OT - Is TMZ.com really Joe Buck's favorite website?

Did anyone else catch Artie Lange on Joe Buck's new HBO show last night? Talk about uncomfortable... I don't really don't mind Lange, as people know what they're getting when they invite him somewhere, but last night he just wouldn't stop. It seemed like he really had it out for Buck. Best quote was from Michael Irvin, "It's just refreshing to see white-on-white crime." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/richard_deitsch/06/16/buc…

...according to Artie on today's show. I bet they were trying to get some buzz for the show, because without Artie going insane, it would have been a total sleeper. I love Artie, but that shirt in his avatar needs to go. At least Jon Hein is a Wolverine.

Artie never said it was an act. The show was a bore so he started busting the guy's balls. Artie did say that before the show Joe told him not to hold back (or 'come at me' or something), and that an HBO producer told him if it gets boring to insert some energy. He also claims that after the show everyone, including Joe, Paul Rudd, etc., shook his hand and told him he was great. Although his stand-up isn't the best, I think Artie is funny as hell on Howard and when he does talk shows. Joe's show was no exception.

I really wouldn't be surprised if someone who thought it would be a good idea to have Artie Lange on the show got fired last night. That was one of the most awkward and uncomfortable TV moments that i've seen in a while. Overall though, I thought the show was pretty crappy. Joe Buck isn't that entertaining and isn't funny at all. And he also made it awkward by trying to be the stereotypical 'gritty journalist' and ask the tough questions when he kept telling Chad OchoCinco/Johnson that he couldn't take him seriously and was basically just making him look like a punk. Chad OC/J has never got caught railing lines like Michael Irvin, another guest, or any trouble close to that but apparently that didn't matter to Buck. Bad idea HBO. Just keep making new seasons of Curb, Flight of the Conchords, and freshen up Entourage.
