OT: Tigers/Orioles Open Thread (8/13)
Tigers faced a 5-0 deficit early but in the bottom of the 6th, thanks to 6 great at-bats (including a 2 run HR by Miggy and a Raburn single that drove two runs, they now lead 6-5. Currently in the top of the 7th.

It's all Leylands fault.
I really hope we pull this one out.

Never thought Scherzer would get this far in this game. He is finishing strong, He knows Hardy will be his last batter and he let it all go. Go Max

Big comeback win tonight, we needed it because the Tribe beat the Twins. Four game lead in the central, just keep winning boys. Great work by Max as well to shut them down after the 5 run second.

Another day, another one-run win. The Tiger bullpen has been incredible over the past couple of weeks.

Coke looks like he is really settling back into his reliever role. Nice win, boys!

I can't help but be proud of the guy for what he went through as a starter, but he's been a nice piece in the back end of the bullpen lately. Good for him.

Glad for Coke.
I think he has lost the chip on his shoulder and is really an asset again. I am honestly suprised at this.

This could be a season changing win.

This is baseball. No one single game is season changing.

What about the end of season tie-breaker game. Would that not be a season changing game?

Great win, but kind of wish the Twins came with their big boy pants and won a game against the Tribe. The Indians are hanging around despite having no real business doing so, and I would like to see Detroit stretch out this lead a bit.
August 13th, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
You realize they just took 2 out of 3 over Detroit, right?
August 13th, 2011 at 11:01 PM ^
Don't let the facts get in the way of your opinion. The Indians have a damn good reason to be hanging three outs game, they are a good team.

Last 8 wins by one run. This kind of thing wins divisions.

We'll see if the Tigers can get over .540 tomorrow. I like the rotation Verlander, Scherzer, Fister, and porcello can all win games.

Sure he has inconsistency issues, but he can get the occasional win. He's like Porcello. In his bad starts he's AWFUL but he has had some memorable starts this year. I'm seeing him pitch against the Twinkies next Wednesday, so he'd better bring his stuff!

No. Everytime Penny goes to the mound I expect a loss. The dude is ok for a back of the rotation guy that wont see a starting role in the playoffs but of the 5 starters, Penny is def the worst. Id prob put Fister as the 2nd or 3rd best SP for Detroit, mostly because of era and hes not as inconsistant as Scherzer/Porcello.
Just wish the Twins would beat Clev! I mean I guess we can officially say the Twins are out the race, ChiSox arent out but I dont see them coming back. Its Tigers-Indians. Indians are ok but theyre not that good of a team...unfortunately neither is Detroit.
Detroit is coming out the Central though.

Raburn is on the field too often. HE got a hit there, but they probably wouldn't have needed the RBI if he wouldn't have tried to flip the ball to Jhonny from his glove in the 2nd.

A couple reasons Rayburn has been playing, first he plays about once every 4 days at 2B. He also gets some random starts in the OF but with Boesh being hurt the outfield rotation now includes him to play regularly out there.

And I hate it. But worse things have happened, and at least we're still winning games.
