Not sure if this has been noted already, but Verlander now leads the AL in all three pitching triple crown categories (wins, strikeouts, ERA). His ERA (2.36) is a hair below Jared Weaver's (2.40).

Double play ball not turned in the first has proved deadly so far. 4-0 A's in the 2nd.

Indians lose! The Tigers have complete control of their destiny in the division race.

Well shoot, doesn't look like it'll happen tonight. I've been wrong, but we've got 1 inning to score at least 6 runs. Maybe tomorrow night

Looks like tomorrow will be the night? Yes, yes?

hell of a streak boys. Got to go to 2 of those 12. We have 11 chances to clinch, not counting Cleveland losing. That's a soothing feeling. Get em tomorrow, fellas! GO TIGERS!!!

I'm planning on being there tonight to see it with my own two eyes.
If there's one thing that makes the Oakland Coliseum (or O.co Coliseum now?) look better, it's the Tigers clinching the division in it.
Seriously, they can rename that abomination of a stadium all they want, but it's always going to be a piece of junk.

Itll happen tonight, Friday.
Only downside to Tigers clinching so early I wont be as interested for the next 2 weeks. Hopefully Avila gets a nice rest before the playoffs. This will set JV to get game 1 nod too. I'll be following the TB-Bos seriies though. Would rather see TB get in instead of Boston. Bostons hurt but always a tough out in the playoffs.
Go Tigers!
