OT: Tigers Going for Sweep of A's
Sanchez gives up 3 hits to start the game, but escapes giving up only a run. Not a good start there.
Offensively, the first inning was trash, but then in the second we had three hard hit balls off of Anderson, so I'm not too worried yet as long as Sanchez settles in.

I couldn't find them online...had to settle for ESPN radio.

It's great, but the radio feed is 3 pitches behind. I'd like to be able to sync with the tv

G$ saving the pitch count some with the CS. Now we need a lead-off baserunner.

Has anyone noticed that TBS/TNT's transition graphics use Comerica Park in the background? Watch next time they go to/come back from commercials and do the sponsors.

I said the same thing on Sunday only to have some friends call me stupid. They have a view that looks down from the luxury suite area onto the concourse.

Anderson has been a bit sketchy since the 1st, need some baserunners for the big guys.

Tired of squandered opportunities by GIDP

That's what I want my reaction to be, but the Infante one was an at 'em ball. He hit it hard and if the 3B is playing another step to the right it is at worst a diving stab and more likely a double.

At least it appears Sanchez is settling in while Anderson is starting to show some wear

Tigers threaten but do not score ground into double play
October 9th, 2012 at 10:03 PM ^
so i am excited to watch delmon K on three balls.
October 9th, 2012 at 10:03 PM ^
LET'S PLAY SOME BALL! LET'S PLAY SOME BALL!
October 9th, 2012 at 10:06 PM ^
looking like one of those games where the tigers hit nothing but bullets................to stationary defenders.

October 9th, 2012 at 10:12 PM ^
Rather have the Tigers hitting hard balls straight to the defense than striking out all over the place. I think we'll start hitting as the game goes on. Sanchez looking better now too.

I like what the future holds for Avi Garcia, but i'd really like to see him drive the ball a little more. Not a single XBH since his time up for the minors.
October 9th, 2012 at 10:22 PM ^
Unless its a fastball down the middle do not swing. K ? Thx
Sincerely,
Guy who hates continuous ground outs.
October 9th, 2012 at 10:47 PM ^
Sorry but no we must swing at all pitches regardless of their location.
Sincerely,
Tigers when not hitting,
October 9th, 2012 at 10:25 PM ^
Yea....our patience is a joke right now. But, this ball club has seemed to struggle with soft throwers all year long. Were a free swinging team and sometimes this is the result.
October 9th, 2012 at 10:44 PM ^
Doing a nice job of making this guy look like Bruce Chen.

Plenty of time left in this one, just need to start hitting the ball out of the infield a bit.
October 9th, 2012 at 10:42 PM ^
From the top of the order. When is the last time Jackson has gotten a meaningful hit?
October 9th, 2012 at 10:44 PM ^
He led off game 1 with a double? Let's not rip on the guy who's been one of the more consistent players on the team this year.
October 9th, 2012 at 10:43 PM ^
Now I'm officially frustrated. The top of our lineup looks like shit. However, we were warned that this dude could pitch.
October 9th, 2012 at 10:45 PM ^
Yea....the tiger batters look frustrated and have not adjusted to any of the soft stuff. This team has not adjusted to soft throwers all year long

Wow, they go to the pen. I don't care how strong their bullpen is, I'm optimistic about that.
October 9th, 2012 at 10:48 PM ^
So the A's are going with the bullpen trio of Doolittle, Cook, and Balfour. Hopefully they channel their ineptitude of 2 days ago.

Tigers' plate discipline has always been suspect, especially on the road for whatever reason. Certainly hurting tonight.
And screw their suddenly good defense. For real.

Outside of Prince, we can't hit a damn thing tonight.
I blame this optimistic thread title. /s the size of a Buick.

Tigers have done it all year on the road. Not really a surprise. For whatever reason the plate discipline goes away on the road for this team.

Oh well...just not the tigers night. Not giving up on this game but fully expect to be playing tomorrow evening.
