Well, I guess nothing says I care like sharing a condom full of urine. Cookies where your own crap was used as the base for the dough might rival that, I suppose, but that would not be nearly as useful or as popular as urine which one was sure would pass a drug test.

Summers looked like he was on drugs his senior season. Bizarre free fall. Borderline first round pick after his junior year, comes back and looks like he never touched a basketball.

Blah..a kid who took off because he lost PT to Nix and incoming Payne. Sounds more bitter than anything. 1 yr at MSU and 3 yrs of no one knowing him at ND.

If by 3 years of no one knowing him you meant he started every game his senior year, was a captain, led the team in blocked shots and averaged 13.5 points and 7 boards a game, then you are correct. He was worthless

How does one start that conversation. Ahem, hey uh, bud, think you could piss in this for me. I'll do the dishes for a week!! Or does it start the other way....ah c'mon man, don't fret about that silly pee test. I'll tell you what, take this. Seriously, take this, use mine. Oh shit careful now, keep your fingers pinched at the top!

We can't think our athletes are doing no wrong just because they go to Michigan. If we did that, we would have to think our fraternities are doing no wrong

"I pissed in a condom and gave it to Durrell summers. To pass a drug test suck it." - Just move the period over and this tweet becomes even more hilarious.

So who Exactly does is suck to be in this scenario? The entity known as the NCAA, the guy who wanted to keep that piss for a special occasion or the guy who had to accept and smuggle a condom full of piss? Clarification appreciated.

For the crowd of people who say, its not big deal/everyone does it crowd

Do you recall  that overstretching and practice form debacle, something as trivial as overstreching led to a 2 year headache thanks to a hack job report by some spineless fucks.

Yeah, everyone practices beyond the time limits - but remember we got dinged on it while the local paper wrote:  MSU follows rules

Well apparently they don't....  So it should be invesitaged.

Well, weed isn't exactly going to give you enhanced performance.  The whole overstretching fiasco was stupid as hell, but it's not like these kids were all taking horse steroids.  Plus Izzo suspended kids and hated them smoking...it's not like he was on their side on this.

I am just saying this could be made into a story if the local media wanted it too - which could eventually lead to an investigation (trivial or not).

I agree the rules on the substance are stupid, but technically the guy/guys should have be ineligible.

...but what's the investigation?  Izzo kicked off multiple players on the team - suspended others - for many things including smoking weed.  If anything, wouldn't he be commended for actually trying to have a backbone?

Yeah, if you know anything about D. Summers, this shouldn't surprise you one bit. Summers being high has been a running joke among Rico Beard/Jim Comp/MSU writers for several years now.

Izzo tried to get rid of that entire team during Summers/Lucas senior year, lol. Can't remember how many dudes ended up getting kicked off that team/transferred, but that group was a bunch of fuck ups.

Izzo hated that group.  IIRC correctly, Lucious was kicked out, Lucas was suspended at least once for sure, and I think Summers was suspended as well?  Wasn't Chris Allen kicked off as well?  There were also rumblings about players sleeping with other player's girlfriends on top of the fact that a bunch of them smoked themselves silly.  Izzo has openly ranted about how much weed has ruined locker rooms.

Sherman's rant was pretty damn funny, yet nothing new to those that follow.

Korie Lucious and Chris Allen were both kicked off the team, Summers and Lucas were both suspended at various times, and Izzo spoke openly about how the chemistry on that 2010-11 team was terrible.  He all but admitted he couldn't wait to get those guys through the program and start fresh.

An article from 2012 has a good quote from Summers regarding some of the dynamics on the team back in 2010.  It's not too hard to read between the lines here:

"I definitely look back on it, and it was a great ride, to be honest," Summers said of his four-year run at MSU, with appearances in two Final Fours. "I learned a lot and had a lot of fun, but that may have been a gift and a curse. A gift and a curse because you’re young and it’s happening like that, and there's not really a script for how to deal with it. Your coaches try to tell you, but it's hard. ... I don't want to get into all of it, but you're having fun in college, not necessarily being as productive on the court. If it's not helping me get better as a basketball player, you shouldn't be partaking. That's the thing I had to learn."

Okay, I'll say it. I don't think anything should happen as a result of this because nobody deserves to get McGary-ed. And before anyone assumes, I don't smoke weed. But I don't have to face the gavel to spot injustice.

Getting caught piss sharing ==> F'ing hilarious!

I used to be against the anti weed smoking NCAA rule, but now I think they should keep it on the books just to induce players into these types of comedic incidents.  Just don't ever enforce the actual penalty.  (But keep that a secret...e.g., Mitch McGary was sentenced to a stern tongue lashing from Kate Upton for his transgressions with the weed.)

And I really don't mind the giant middle finger salute to the NCAA, but I'm not a fan of how he singled out Summers' behavior.  Yes, Durrell is accountable for his actions, but by all accounts he's worked hard to get his life back together and is now playing professionally overseas.  Sherman doesn't have the right to air Summers' dirty laundry.

He could have easily said "a teammate" and left it at that.  IMO, using Summers' name is an unfortunate part of this whole thing.
