OT (sadly) - March Madness Day 1 Open Thread
I know a lot of people will be at work until the later games, but I know there will be some people watching these early games. All four look like snoozers, but odds are that one will turn into a nail biter. Hopefully it is ND-Northeastern. With my luck it will be Zona, since I have them winning it all.

Dumbass with the Oakleys on gets a T for Xavier
Xavier's best player is a fat, balding, gumpy white guy with glasses and moobs, and their head coach's wife shares the same name as a famous porn star, only she has the more pornish spelling of the name (Christi Mack versus Christy Mack).
If I were an announcer these are the things I'd be talking about.
Stainbrook (big fat guy with the Oakleys) with a nice spin move to score for Xavier
Pretty sure this guy is older than Oden.
He plays like an old guy at the Y and looks visibly winded like an old guy at the Y.
Ha. My roommate and I were making the same joke during the Big East tournament.
I look forward to him tearing up the NBA next year. He'll bring a real veteran presence.
Does Ole Miss even have a coach? Their offense has two plays.
The first play is to make a bunch of horrible passes and then jack up a contested 3 late in the shot clock.
The second play is to not pass the ball at all and jack up a horrific shot early in the shot clock.
Their defense also vacillates between leaving one guy wide open and leaving two guys wide open.
This should really speak to how bad BYU's defense is.
Ole Miss is one of the worst teams I have ever had the pleasure of watching in the NCAA tournament. We would have torn them apart.

Is there anything worse on Earth than anything and everything related to OSU?
I was just about to comment on how awful VCU's offense was there but then OSU played even worse D and gave up a wide open dunk with like 3 seconds on the shot clock for no reason.
That should have been over the back on OSU.
I think because he reached with his arm and not really his body, that's why they didn't call it.
Not looking good for VCU. I did select OSU to defeat VCU as my super special totally always correct lock of the week, though.

I don't really like VCU's chances in OT with their center fouled out.
Hang on, did the announcers just say that not calling a timeout was good because it prevented Amir Williams from coming into the game? He is the worst "inside presence" in the Big Ten. I would have preferred him in the game.

That is not a double foul. That should be a foul only on Tate. OSU gets another call.

This VCU - OSU game is devolving into a special kind of awfulness.

So why wasn't that a flagrant foul on the OSU player? I'm not being snarky I'm seriously asking. He definitely did that intentionally.
Reggie Miller needs to stop the OSU love fest. They are a mid pack Big10 team whose best player is leaving.
VCU just let a guy drive from about 4 feet outside of the 3 point line all the way to the rim for a wide open layup.

It seems that VCU is done. Got way too sloppy the last couple minutes.
I understand that refs miss calls, but the guy took about four steps and changed his pivot foot right in front of the ref. How can you not see that?
Wow has VCU imploded here. On the bright side, it will be fun watching Arizona embarrass OSU.
Why in the hell did VCU take the three there and so much time when OSU has been so bad at free throws. At least try one round of easy two and see what OSU does on the free throw line.
