At least we've still got Keith Jackson.

He is alive and well and posting here.

Didn’t Connery endorse slapping women around “when they just don’t give you any choice”?
ya... not a death I’m going to commemorate.

Yup, that was a character flaw. Is your point that because he gave a bad interview, we should 100%discount the talent he displayed in cinema?
you seem really woke bro!!!

A guy says something stupid. A guy can't keep a thought to himself. A guy has significant flaws. Sounds to me like the guy is human. And people with flaws themselves act holier than thou while hiding behind an avatar and handle.
Judge not, my friend.

Well, you only live twice. I reckon that means you die twice.

Is Sir Sean different from Sean?

RIP Mr. Bond?
October 31st, 2020 at 10:41 AM ^
Nobody was a better James Bond. Nobody.
October 31st, 2020 at 11:31 AM ^
He was a great Bond, and set the tone for the series. But if you ever read the original Ian Fleming books, I think Daniel Craig actually has come closer to embodying Bond as originally written- "a bad guy who happens to work for the good guys."
But RIP Sir Sean, you were memorable!

First, OMG! Sean Connery too?! Curse you 2020!
Second, I'd like to politely disagree on the best 007. Yes, Connery set the standard that led to all the other movies and all the other Bonds. We don't get to enjoy John Cleese as Q, or Daniel Craig's gritty, tormented, assassin Bond without Sean. All praise to him for becoming an icon. However, his smug playboy character has not aged well. He's still one of the best Bonds, but as you can guess, I prefer Craig's assassin. I think Connery's best roles were the one's where he played a grey warrior, e.g. the Hunt for Red October or the Presidio.
Finally, a passing thought on one of my favorite meme's. There's a photo of Queen Elizabeth with all the Royal Regalia, but she has a face full of shaving cream, and a big smile. In the next frame is a photo of Connery (grey warrior version) with the caption "that's not what I shaid."
