or he could actually try to raise them to be responsible adults at the age of 18 - shocking concept but maybe hell give it a shot, they can pay for college themselves or earn schollies / grants if they really want to attend

but I have an old family friend that is about 36, a handful older than myself. He has no children but was married for about a year to a woman with a child. They were together for about a year before marriage, too. While together, he talked about that little girl like she was his own! Almost to an annoying extent lol. After she cheated a bunch & they divorced, he is that guy on Facebook/Twitter/Etc that constantly slams others that post pics of their child's first day of school, Halloween, birthday, etc. He unknowingly has become a genuine hater of children & those with them. It's kind of sad in the literal sense. /cool story bro
