OT: NFL Draft Day 3 Rd 4-7 Open Thread

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
Otherwise know as me posting to myself. Though I'm sure the Draft will be popular on the West Coast at 7 am. Looks like we have an ESPN crew upgrade with Wingo, McShay and Jaws with Kiper.

The NFLN is the ultimate upgrade over the ESPN crew. The ESPN crews are real hard to watch. Although, today Mayock sounds like he ate a porcupine. The dude has a raspier voice than Barwis.

I don't think they can do worse than the crew they've had the last two days. I just want to hear about these draftees. Hopefully, the coverage today won't be as awkward as the last two days.

I've been watching the stream on NFL.com the last two days, and both days, in the middle of every round they cut to the studio in LA, where they talk about previous picks and storylines, i.e. Jimmah. I just don't get it, because we have 4 months to talk about previous picks. But the draft comes but once a year, and I want to hear about every pick as it comes through.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Jerry Jones has started to go off the deep end in the same way as Al Davis? They have way bigger needs than WR, but they trade up for Dez Bryant. This after trading a 1,3, and 5 for Roy Williams 2 years ago. And (AND!) he's drunk all the time, just like Davis.

I'll take 10:1, I gotta believe that someone will like the athleticism of Stevie Brown or the healthy version of Minor. Zoltan gives me hope (mostly in my heart) and Warren is dong punching himself but may go late. I just have to believe that one of them will go, mostly because I am a homer.

he'll sit on the bench for 4 years and then he MIGHT do well and he might not. i can see why u pick him. i dont really know where else you would go if ur an eagle. as to picking eric norwood, i LOVE this guy after watching him play. sadly, the eagles used all their picks on defense and i think that getting another defender would be a bit excessive. they needed to get someone on offense just to balance it out.

Sam Young was a four year starter, too, though. I don't mean to hate on Fox; I think the two are pretty much the same guy. I think this draft has gone very well and hopefully we'll pick Pacman and Bullocks will help patch up the remaining holes on the D until next draft.

I will never understand how short lions fans' memories are. Listen, I'm a lions fan as much as the next guy, and I think they're making progress. I like Schwartz and Mayhew, they seem to be making some good moves, but how can you forget where they've been for the last 9 years? That isn't a Millen-only issue. That's a systematic failure. Again, I hope they turn it around, but the Fords are as much to blame as anyone.
