OT: Netflix reportedly producing documentary about Urban Meyer & UF Football
It's all but confirmed by those participating in it. Obviously, this isn't going to be one of those feel good underdog stories considering Urban Meyer, Aaron Hernandez, and some of the other players involved.
It'll be interesting to see how OSU distances themselves from UF Urban while still allowing him to be embedded within the current program.

Yes, it will be interesting to see how The Everybody Murders University distances itself from Urban's very fine program down in Gainesville.
I dunno, this may cause his health issues to resurface once again....
Wonder what pizza he ate in Gainesville???
They are just glad he didn't fire them.
ok, I have a related bedtime story you might want to hear.
fuck an OSU and fuck Urbs
the end
Adapt a screenplay out of that and I'd pay $10 to see it.
Well, too bad I won't watch it because Netflix wants me to pay an extra $8/month
Will there be any "buttocks groping" - Jacksonville style, in this film?
That would be her sister - Cayman Florida!
Must be a grandkid. Bouncy, bouncy.
I doubt she was the grandkid he was supposed to be with that evening. But then, what do I know?
dude lost his keys and was looking for them, because he realized that the people who wanted him to stay out late and miss the grandkids birthday party had bad intentions.
I dont know. Im kind of jealous.
Urban Meyer, World Class Pick Pocket!
Should be fun. I don't think Netflix has any professional relationship to FOX, so the juicier, the better. Bring it on, this is a dirty corner of college athletics that has needed a flashlight trained on it for a while. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I can hardly wait.
The Longest Yard III
That tag line is stupid. I'm shocked the SEC even allows such things. I assume they'd retitle it to...
SWAMP GATORS - The underdog story of a coach, his players, and his love for all students and student athletes - blondes, brunettes, and red-heads.
His appreciation for the student body seems unrivaled. And, the focus on Title IX - with many opportunities for female students to support his program and coaching style - well, it really defines why he's the humanitarian he is - and, substantiates exactly why those wearing scarlet & gray in Columbus adore and worship him.
No matter how scathing the documentary may be, OSU fans will be screaming for Urban to be rehired as soon as Ryan Day's departure is announced. The more things change...
That would be around 4:00 pm EST on 11/25/23, I think.
Respectfully, I strongly disagree. The Buckeye Athletic leadership won't announce this until - some time on Sunday - November 26th. Probably around, or slightly after, noon EST.
Kinda like Ernie McCracken from Kingpin.
"If you give a little, you get back a whole lot more"
"sometimes when i wake up in the morning mr mccrackens already there"
Here's another quick reflection of Urban's generosity. He's not asking "what she can do for him? He's telling her - in no uncertain terms - exactly "what he could do for her?"
Exemplifying the standard that OSU is built upon.
Mrs Meyer: <watches gif> <looks at bank account balance> "He's just blowing off some steam!"
It does make one wonder if she'll reach a conclusion which says - "Here's one for you - and one (or two) for me."
Of course, going back to a classic from the Beatles... Taxman.
"Here's one for you nineteen for me... Should five percent appear too small, Be thankful, I don't take it all" (I'm just talking about the Tax-man, not a divorce lawyer.)

Looks like Urbs is going for 2.
Sir, you put the "b" in "subtle."
I've really liked Netflix's scandal docs ( Woodstock '99, Waco, Murdaugh) and their sports scandal shows (Bad Sport, FIFA, Operation Flagrant Foul). This will probably be very good and very juicy.
Maybe season 2 will feature his time at Ohio Central Football school and his beloved assistant Zach Smith?
I think footage of Zach's toy collection is in order.
They had a very virtuous quarterback during that period, though, am I right?
could turn out to be a Tebow love fest
Yeah, this seems more likely to me. I read some of the promotional material for this, and I think people on this thread are going to be very disappointed. It seems like a puff piece. The company associated with marketing it is asking former players from that team to help advertise it -- I find it hard to believe that former players would promote a negative piece, unless they were way outside the Circle of Trust.
They are 10 years too late with all these sports docs.
It sounds like it's on par for the NIL efforts by the NCAA.
Florida, a sunny place for shady people.

These links don't work
Hopefully it makes it impossible to hire him after we beat Day a third time
Hope they bring in what happened in Jacksonville as echoes of his time at UF.
My GF in 2006-2007 was a Florida alum and big time sports fan. I took her to the Vandy @ Michigan game that fall and then she and I went to the UGA/UF cocktail party in Jacksonville.
The morning the committee chose Florida to play OSU in the championship we bought our flight to Phoenix for that game no matter who was chosen. Then we headed to the beach so as not to watch the selection show. Of course they chose Florida instead of a Michigan team that lost by a FG on a fucking muddy dogtrack in Columbus.
She was going to the game in Glendale with her GF whose parents were big UF donors and had 4 tickets. I ended up sneaking into the stadium right at kickoff, I just missed Ginn's kickoff return to star the game, OSU's only TD of the game. I managed to dodge a security guy or two throughout the game who was checking everyone's tickets as word got out that dozens of people were able to sneak into the game.
In the 4th Q I was able to locate my GF and sit with her to bask in OSU's ass kicking. I wasn't wearing any Michigan gear, but inexplicably some drunk UF fan right in front of us yelled, "where are you crybaby Michigan fans now?!?!?!". Of course I didn't say a word as USC just stomped us at in the Rose Bowl a week prior.
Bonus - the next morning the PHX airport was littered with sad OSU fans wearing their gear. I always thought it was amusing that they apparently don't own anything else to wear after getting their asses kicked and humiliated like that.
Netflix has been producing a whole lotta trash for a while now. Hopefully this is better but I won't be holding my breath.
Urban looks a lot younger there.
Pretty soon, everything will just be Content for Streaming.
Appropriately named! A slimy program, a slimy coach, many slimy players. Much like Tom Osbourne/Scott Frost in 97, Meyer/Tebow whined their way into an NC in 06. Apparently in Meyer's mind a 10 point road loss to 10-2 Auburn was much less egregious than an all-time classic 3 point road loss to #1 and 12-0 OSU. But then again, lying and delusion are his defining characteristics!
Not gonna lie, I thought this was a joke at first.
I'm fully expecting to be disappointed and watch it be an 80-90% Tim Tebow slurp-fest, while the other infractions or more or less glossed over. Netflix already did the Aaron Hernandez documentary a few years back so I doubt they're going to rehash that all that much.
I know Netflix isn't owned by Disney or E-SEC-PN so they don't necessarily have an obligation to paint Florida in the best light. I'm just not expecting this to be some scathing review of Meyer's tenure.
Tebow seems like a high character guy but he is arguably the most overrated player ever.
Think they found some of the co-eds to interview?
