OT: NCAA D2 basketball game ends in a tie
Not only did Michigan Baseball play Washington to a 7-7 tie last weekend, a Division II basketball game between Winston Salem State and Johnson C. Smith.
A deperation heave knocked out the lights. Yes.

That said, it's too bad this one was the result of an external rules board and not the written rules of the game, but it's cool.

I highly doubt Michigan has ever had a female state chess champion. Only one woman has ever broken the top 100 in the world (thought that one woman, Judit Polgar, did reach into the top 10 at her peak). Chicks don't do chess.

Totally off-topic but.. I played in several Michigan Opens some time ago (~10 years) .. just an expert myself so never really fought for state titles, but I suppose I should know who you are if you're speaking of Michigan. Draws are not the way to that title, however! (Ben Finegold won most every year I played.. safe to assume you're not him?)

they finished the game today. they played the 5 minute overtime.

wonder how both teams prepared for the five minute overtime. Be interesting if they treated it like a full game and prepared for it.
