he was the 'ted williams' of his era.  long past his prime now, but still a pretty good hitter.  i wonder about a guy like that being a hitting coach.

If he has a chance to win the game on a walk off I'll cheer for him to get it tonight, otherwise I'll root for him to not get 3000 until tomorrow when I'll be at the game.

Just saw the highlights on MLB Netwrok.  One hit was and infield single the old man legged out.  Another was a broken bat single.  

They all look like line drives on a score sheet!

It's a 1 pm game Thursday, so it's "Sneak Your Transistor Radio to Work Day" tomorrow. 

And for the out-of-state fans outside the Tigers TV/radio coverage area, you can be certain both ESPN and the MLB Network will break in to cover every at bat until he gets #3000.

BTW, Miggy has another milestone he's striving for:  he needs one more double to make it an even 600 for his career.
