OT, maybe: Falk and Leach both shed some tears on air today (Sam Webb's show)

Jon and Rick both called in separately today and got quite emotional when talking about Jim and his younger days. It's definitely one podcast worth checking out if you're pumped about the Harbaugh hire. Go Blue!

I'm not sure I'd use the word "cry" but certainly choked up at certain points.  Jon was just generally talking about JH helping to restore Michigan football glory, and Rick was talking about a thank you letter that Jackie Harbaugh gave him when he finished at Michigan, in regard to all he meant to her son Jim.  Very cool story.

I was lucky enough to go to a Tigers game with Leach and his father (who is a legend in his own right) last year.

One thing I learned about Leach is that if you want to incite instant rage in Rick, all you have to mention is "Dave Brandon."  Spittle starts flying and the F bombs start dropping.  I knew that Brandon wasn't loved by many letter winners, and after hearing some of Rick's thoughts, it was pretty clear DB had little love and respect for former players... even if you were a big deal.

The future is pretty bright, gents.  Onward!

The one thing that I really have enjoyed through the last 48 hours or so are these very emotional moments from former players and personnel, and I think that's because in these reactions you can see that they were in a similar pain to our own when it came to the state of the program and they see the potential that we see for this to be what we know it can be. Falk's in particular was very moving, I thought.

Oh man, I'm tearing up. These guys love Michigan so much. It dwarfs whatever emotions we have for the program, which are themselves substantial. It probably kills Ricky Leach and Jon Falk--just kills them--to see Bo's Michigan go to shit like it has the past seven years. It probably kills Jim Harbaugh just as much. That's why he's back. Listen to these interviews, and there's your answer as to why he's coming back.
