My man. I appreciate the preemptive shutdown to that crowd that gets their dander up about OT.

I really wanted to do an EPL Saturday Morning thread because there were some GREAT soccer matches today, but I knew I'd get people whining and complaining. As though we need more breakdowns next week of things that have been discussed 15,000 times this summer.

As I have explained - quite unsuccessfully - through the years in those posts, the "end" is more of a "significant narrowing of scope", meaning it is the end of uncleared, random OT threads. Prior clearance, provided the reason is sound, or matters of overarching importance are fine as always. I know some people prefer a world where there is either "A" or "not A", but I can't fathom operating in such a fashion here.

I understand you don't want posts about favorite colors or assorted crap.

I just think that there has been a fear created by this whole OT stuff that causes people to not post things that are related to sports and can/should be talked about. And while I get this is a Michigan board, I stay here because I like the people; I don't feel going to Reddit is warranted. I wanted to start a Saturday morning EPL post, but knew that this OT stuff was getting all serious now.

TBH, it just feels like a somewhat archaic process. The board will be 95 percent football-related posts from August-December, which is understandable. But people like myself who want to talk about other sports topics shouldn't have to get blasted for posting said topics.

I also find it odd that after week six, threads that get created 900x over that say "Fire Harbaugh!" are OK, but talking about something else is on the fence.

I believe in the Olde Message Board Adage:

Drop your OP, then go watch the hilarity ensue. Don't tell other posters how or what to post. Grow some Balls. Drink ALOT more if this board gets you that worked up. Don't post on a thread just to say you don't care about the thread. Don't talk about posting points.

There. I just broke every one of the rules in my Olde Message Board adage.

But they're not rules--more like guidelines.

Hawaii teams in the past have shown the propensity to score buckets of runs. Michigan might need at least 6-8 to make it to tomorrow's final.

Thru 2:

MI 20 = 2

HI 00 = 0

Michigan pitcher at 30 pitches thru 2. The game limit is 85, but you're allowed to finish the batter if you hit 85 in the middle of an AB.
