OT Lebron vs. Brett Favre

Submitted by bikethedistance on

With the winding down of the NHL and NBA playoffs, and it being May baseball, it only seems logical that the two most discussed topics on ESPN will be:

1) Where will Lebron play next year? and

2) Will Brett Farve play next year?

I know that I love it when ESPN talks about things what won't be relevant for the next two months. (Lebron is a free agent in 44 days, can't sign for 51; and Farve won't be saying anything until late July at the earliest)

So mgoblog community, which story do you most look forward to following in the next two months?

Let's see -

2007 - last pass: INT v. Giants, NFC Title Game, in OT.

2008 - last pass: INT (1 of 5) v. Dolphins, finishing epic collapse by Jets to miss playoffs.

2009 - last pass: INT v. Saints when a 4-yard rush would have put Longwell in range.

Chances are, he's going to end this year with an INT. Since Lloyd Carr has retired, it is the ONLY way his seasons have ended.

I didn't realize that the start of conference finals meant that the playoffs were winding down? I guess you stop watching the NCAA tournament as soon as the final four is set too?

Damnit. I thought maybe there would be a thunder dome style fight to the death between the two. You've let me down OP.

They both have a big choice to make and they are not going to make it until they are good and ready.  My advice to everyone is to not pay attention to any of it until something actually happens.  Or in Favre's case something happens, then it unhappens, and then it happens again.

The dude has been in the NFL about 20 years and was an NFL MVP and Super Bowl champ.

Also, this post is about his name being in the news all the time.

Why can't you spell his name correctly?  It's F-A-V-R-E.

When it comes to sports that aren't in season, I look forward to whatever coverage I can find of UM football, with UM basketball in second place.

but I'd say Favre, just because the Vikings play the Lions twice a year, and I actually care about the NFL.  As for the NBA, no thanks.  Until the Pistons are relevant again, I have no reason to watch.

Favre has a ring.  Does Lebron?

As far as coverage, I'm sick of the same recycled storylines during NBA games.  I learned long ago to ditch Sportscenter, but when Mike Breen keeps talking about Lebron to the point where Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson get sick of it.....

I am not a fan of either of those guys.  The media only perpetuates my dislike of both Favre and James.  If no future news story ever carried either of them I would not be the least bit upset.
