OT: Late Night Horror

Submitted by Big Boutros on

I just finished watching a Dutch thriller from 1988 entitled Spoorloos, or The Vanishing as it's known here in the States.

It's an exceptional film, and I highly recommend it for anyone desiring something in the horror category that doesn't confine itself to genre stereotypes.

Next on my list is Roman Polanski's The Tenant.

Share with us some underrated horror titles that you've come across!

The Hills.

It runs sometimes late on night on MTV.

Basically it's like one of those "cheerleader slasher flicks" but it's set in modern time LA.  The story revolves around a girl named Heidi who has recently undergone some sort of horrible series of surgeries gone wrong and has a crazy boyfriend named Spencer who is out to kill everyone in her life.

I don't want to spoil it too much for everyone, but in the end - Spencer kills like 80% of the cast and then offs himself.  Based on a true story.

Great actors always help. Donald Sutherland in Don't Look Now and Anthony Hopkins in Magic. Both were truly suspenseful throughout, with a worthy payoff at the finish.
