OT: Is Jordan Jefferson for real?

Submitted by drewro02 on

Jordan Jefferson's first comments since fight night in Baton Rouge:

"I can't imagine anybody in the country going through more than I did. But, I'm now wiser and more aware. God puts people in certain situations. I don't regret anything."

I'm not even gonna comment on the stupidity of this statement. Maybe Les should've kept him away from the media a little longer. With some of the other statements in the interview, they better be careful about the good team chemistry they have going right now. Lee is managing the game nicely enough for them to win games, and I can't imagine coming close to giving Jefferson a look right now.

Not everybody is a perfect person in the world. Everyone kills people, murder people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever---- Not this guy again. I thought he bolted for the NFL. Oh, it's a different guy? Carry on then.

Les miles is wishing this JJ saga was over and he would just graduate. Than maybe he can forget he ever moved russell sheperd to WR so jefferson could be the starting QB.

But can they make it through the SEC schedule with either of them? I don't think you can get by florida, auburn, alabama, and arkansas with jarret lee. With jefferson sitting out the first 5 games you don't want him to get his first action of the year against one of those team either. They have a championship caliber team in all areas except quarterback and in any other conference that would be fine, but in that one it will be the difference between the championship game and the sugar bowl.

Fairly well this year.  He hasn't been spectacular really, but he has been decent (and only thrown 1 interception all year, which is great).  I guess we really have to wait and see how they match up, and this saturday will be their first big in conference test.  I honestly think we may have to wait until the Alabama-LSU game on the 6th to see if they really are a MNC contender, but so far LSU fans have to like what they see.

The bar employees all told the police that JJ and friends were attacked and merely defended themselves.  I still think that we are seeing a little bit of Jim Crow from the Baton Rouge police.  Even a little bit is too much.

Is he supposed to just put his hands down and let his attackers beat the crap out of him?

the grand jury thought there was enough evidence to bring charges and there is a pretty wide spectrum of action between putting your hands down and getting the crap beat out of you and kicking somebody lying on the ground in the head.

Not sure where the race angle plays either, besides the naive, outdated notion that every black man arrested in the south is the victim of racist cops.

The number of self-absorbed assholes produced by major college and professional sports is pretty incredible.  People like Jordan Jefferson make me appreciate the kids we have playing for Michigan even more.

It's possible he meant he went through more than any other college player in the country, which might be true, at least this year.  I'm not fully prepared to rip on him for this quote.

he got in a bar fight and couldnt play some games. Look at OSU players, they made even dumber mistakes but are allowed to come back and play even though they completley tarnished their program and made their head coach quit. Jefferson has nothih' on that.

Wow, can you imagine if the guy he kicked in the head died from that injury? I'd feel so bad for JJ and all he would have to go through. Poor kid might end up doing twenty years in that case. So glad nobody died, it'd be a shame to make Jefferson go through that.

This isnt stupidity, this is lack of humility and an overly jacked ego. He cant face he made a dumb mistake and wont admit it to the public but instead trys to make it seem he did what was right in the eyes of 'god'. Some people.

This guy is a true Turd....I bet 250,500,000 people in this country had to endure more than this guy.  Me reading this pathetic garbage from your mouth is enduring  more than you kicking someone in the face.  Please dont bring God into this for your own sentiment

I dont see where all this hate is coming from... He's a college kid. Sure, he kicked the guy while he was down. But who's to say the attackers didn't suckerpunch of do something dirty to them? I do not think that anything has been proven, and what about the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing?

I'll probably get negged to Bolivia, but he probably did have it very rough. Missed his team's first 5 games, he was sent to jail, he had things in his home seized and had his place searched. He is under the microscope, and the whole country is looking his way, critisizing his every move. Who are we to say we know what he went through? It was a rash decision, and a bad one, but for what he has gotten out of it, and the punishment he has gotten has been pretty bad.

That's just my two cents.

Give me a break guys, who amongst us has not found himself to be clueless in the ways of the world and the media at the age of 21-22 years old?  The kid has little to no life experience, and I seem to recall a lot of people on the Michigan football team over the past few years who have done similiarly stupid things (Cissoko, Feagin, Hangerup as a few examples).

There is a reason why the phrase young and stupid go together.  Let us be circumspect about casting stones at 18-23 year old young men.  Now, if you are talking about men over 40 years old, start stoning them now!

Guys, guys, c'mon. Sometimes God just makes people get into drunken bar brawls to test them and help them grow as people. I'm sure JJ is a much better person because of this experience.

He had cystic fibrosis and finally lost his battle at 30 years old.  It took him 3 hours everyday just to prepare to go outside.  He was the toughest person I ever knew.

Jordan, I have some advice for you, think before you speak.
