OT-ish LeBatard Show talks “Little Brother”
Not really sure how they ended up on the topic of MSU... but as daily listeners understand, the LeBatard show tends to jump all over the place.
Throughout the show, Dan, Stu, and the Shipping container calls MSU “Little Brother”. They even ranked the top 5 programs in B1G history, ranking Mich #3 , OSU #2, and (in typical show fashion) NEB #1.
I enjoy the show and listen on a daily basis, so if you needed a reason to listen, or just laugh, it’s a good day to tune in.
I’d link, but just go to podcasts or download the ESPN app and listen there.

I don't watch this show so I can't tell if it's supposed to be a parody or not. Nebraska #1?
September 4th, 2019 at 5:38 PM ^
I'll give you two guesses as to whether or not that's serious...

LongLiveBo posted this below... so give him the upvotes.
Takes you to the conversation that lasts about 5 min about MSU.
September 4th, 2019 at 5:39 PM ^
Yea... they do “Top 5” ranks as a way of laughing at sports talk shows and how they rank everything. The #1 typically cuts against the curve hard... according to topB1Gteams.com

I'm guessing going back to the days of the Big 8 where Nebraska had a record of something like 30 seasons with 9 wins or better (and this was the days before 12-14 games as well).

YOU DONT GET THE SHOW!
September 4th, 2019 at 6:00 PM ^
No. I get the show.
Just saying their hot take is plausible.
But thanks for the the knee jerk reaction and the neg.
September 4th, 2019 at 6:01 PM ^
... i hate that we can’t just copy and paste picture from our phones...
September 4th, 2019 at 9:46 PM ^
Well, I don't think you do.
They make fun of anyone who does hot takes. That's the point of it.
September 4th, 2019 at 6:27 PM ^
No need to shout.

Shout! Shout! Let it all out. Come on! I'm talking to you--come on!

Dan and the guys were reporting on survey questions and one was 65% felt Sparty would not make the college football playoff. There was a comment about Green & White supporters being in denial with Little Bro comments liberally shared. Stugotz was especially enjoying the banter. I wonder what he has in his cup during the show each day.
September 4th, 2019 at 5:49 PM ^
I believe Stu has a niece or some family member that attends or has attended recently UofM so that might be where his enjoyment and knowing a little of the rivalry comes from. He has been known to rock a Michigan pullover from time to time.
September 5th, 2019 at 11:38 AM ^
On the flip side I remember Stugotz making fun of Harbaugh during his thoughts of the day segment (not sure what it's called, the one with the beeping). It was either after the loss to OSU or the bowl last year, but something along the lines of everyone has Harbaugh's number.
September 4th, 2019 at 6:13 PM ^
Probably good idea that you don't watch.
September 4th, 2019 at 8:37 PM ^
Maybe it is in honor of 9/4 Bo Pelini day?

It was closer to 90%-95% before the MSU sites got a hold of it and skewed the results.
September 4th, 2019 at 6:07 PM ^
Uh oh.
That looks like disrespekt to me.

How many chips is this worth?
September 4th, 2019 at 6:39 PM ^
Odd dig as they've been to B10 champ game better than 1 out of every 3 times it's been played and won 25% of the total b10 championships played, second only to osu. They must be polling on winning at meaningfull apparel sales ?
September 4th, 2019 at 7:03 PM ^
MSU has won 8 conference titles in 69 years of membership.Bo won 13 in 20 years.
September 4th, 2019 at 7:18 PM ^
In 2011, the B10 created a championship game where 2 separate divisions have the winner face off in a championship game. But given our historic prowess, I much appreciate your pre-B10 championship game insight - thanks for sharing!
September 4th, 2019 at 7:37 PM ^
The entire point of the show is to troll. They know what they are saying is not particularly statistically supportable, it doesn’t matter. It isn’t really a dig at the team or the program, it is to get a rise out of MSU fans. Tomorrow it could be the New York Mets. Friday it could be Notre Dame. It is just funny that they chose to go after MSU because they have the most insecure fans in the world.
(I will add that I am not a huge fan of the timing of this. That entire program does fuel itself on slights, real or imagined).
September 4th, 2019 at 7:58 PM ^
Clsssic sparty right there. Pick the time in which we had the two worst head coaches back to back, and forget everything else that happened before and after.
September 4th, 2019 at 10:26 PM ^
Football began in 2011 according to the Sparty trolls.
Whatever.
September 5th, 2019 at 10:09 AM ^
So football started in 2011, got it, thanks for weighing in Sparty.
September 4th, 2019 at 10:31 PM ^
(nice)
Too perfect...Mike Ryan would've enjoyed this stat.
September 4th, 2019 at 5:44 PM ^
Best sports show on any network.
September 4th, 2019 at 5:45 PM ^
Shit was funnnny! Of course some Sparty fans took it way too serious and started texting in all sorts of fancy stats about how they're an all-time great or whatever. One of the great thing about that team (the show team, not Sparty) is their mockery of the cliche sports fan who takes everything much too serious.
YOU DON'T GET THE SHOWWWWW
September 4th, 2019 at 5:48 PM ^
The ironic thing is Sparty keeps the "lil bro" thing alive with their very behavior.
Especially the coach. After Hart said that, Dantinio called him out in his presser. I cannot ever remember seeing a big time (or wanna be big time) college coach that butthurt about what 1 player said on the other side.
September 4th, 2019 at 5:50 PM ^
Didn't D'antoni make a slight against Hart's height?
September 4th, 2019 at 6:03 PM ^
1. Don't remember.
2. Does it matter? If we fucking cared, we'd be exhibiting lil bro tendencies. Ha!
September 4th, 2019 at 5:52 PM ^
I want Hart on the coaching staff for this reason alone. The crying and bitching from EL would be delicious.
September 4th, 2019 at 6:06 PM ^
We'd never lose to them again.
And if we did, it would be hell for that position group on Monday.

Fricking terrible program. I’d rather listen to the bald guy who covers the SEC.
September 5th, 2019 at 6:32 AM ^
That same guy who predicted just last week that Tennessee was on their way back to winning championships?
September 4th, 2019 at 6:51 PM ^
Of all these names: Colin Cowherd, Stephen A, Dan Patrick, Rich Eisen, Mike Golic, Will Cain, Dan LeBatard, Jim Rome, Doug Gotlieb, Clay Travis, whoever the hell Damon Amendolara is, Sarah Spain, Mike Florio...
LeBatard is near the bottom of the list as being a jerk

What hath Bill Mazer wrought?
s/ Samuel F. B. Morse at that new-fangled telegraph machine
Could Mazer have imagined what the industry would become when he started the first sports-talk radio show in March 1964 in New York?
September 4th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
Yep. Three straight hours of non-sports talk. Love it.
September 4th, 2019 at 9:50 PM ^
Very funny. Thank you

Little brother. The trope that keeps on giving. Seldom does a comment so precisely hit the mark. And the Mork.
