It's got to suck for residents of this 1,000-year-old country (Austria) to be mistaken for a new kid on the block (Autralia), especially since no one ever makes the mistake in the other direction.

Oh man, you guys have no idea how pissed some of my students are about being confused with Australia all the time. Some of them actually have shirts that say that there are no kangaroos in Austria. On a semi-related note, I play outside receiver on a Division II American Football league here:

If it makes you feel better, I'm from the UP. Some people actually think we ARE another country.
We at least have our own language...
Yeah, I've seen a lot of U.S. maps that don't include the UP...discrimination! My only problem with the UP is that most of you guys are Packers fans.
I've seen that as well (and even moreso for maps of Michigan) and it really bugs me. My mom is from the Copper Country.
