OT - Illinois New Uniforms (not Uniformz)
Looks like Nike is "rebranding" Illinois - this stuff is actually pretty sharp from where I stand and not too far out of line hence do not get the uniformz treatment; I especially like the two upper basketball uniforms.
The upper orange football one looks Syracuse-ish; can't see enough of their blue jersey version to assess - assuming the pants are orange but who knows.

Not something I'd ever claim to be an expert on but the weight and style of the fabric on the blue football jerseys seems hockey-esque. Maybe soccer as well.

With Miami and now Illinois, Nike seems to be going the "Less is More" route. Maybe they finally realized that the only way to be noticed in a sea of ridiculous uniforms was to NOT be ridiculous? Maybe???
Or maybe those two schools are just willing to say no to crazy uniforms. Ultimately it's the schools choice

Stuff looks good actually.. Really good compared to the crap that's been rolling out the last few years. Clean lines and yet still modern.
I think they look pretty good. Clean.
Good job. Especially like the football ones but they're both well done. Hopefully it's trend they stick to... tone things down and they can still look pretty legit.
(holding back urge to complain about Adidas/Nike debate)
Bravo
Did anyone do the Bernie? (Ha, I know what the Bernie is now, thank you mgoblog.)
I was going to ask the same thing. That's the new standard for a successful uniformz unveil.
College Sports would be perfect if every school wore the same uniform for the entire season. The sport is turning into Nascar with all of the attention getting. The reason why we have 5 different alternates a year is that people are sheep and buy whatever.
Illinois player doing the Heisman pose? Let's get serious...
No less
I actually like these uniforms - they are very simple but also very modern and not at all overdone. The basketball ones in particular have a somewhat understated quality even, something that I always liked about certain uniforms through the years. In this case, I would have to say "Well done" to Nike.
The italicized letters make them appear faster, so there's that.
Their blue jerseys always look good, but their orange jerseys, not so much.
That's a lot of basketball jerseys for a school without a team to field in them.
Nikes new Syracuse jersey will make you take that statement back...
No orange jersey. Colors fading into other colors within the numbers. Gray. Gross. Although I do think that blue jersey is bad ass.
Yes I guess now Syracuse won't be looking Syracuse-ish anymore in football. The middle one could be anyone - Louisville I guess...and the all gray one... meh.

What kind of numbers are those? They look like a little kid drew them on.
though I'm pretty sure they are a carbon copy of Virginia's.
on a side note, I'm running a half marathon up in Champaign in a week. Any ideas or requests of what I can get pictures of from the campus? Last year, I wore a Michigan sweatshirt and proudly displayed it in front of a picture of Red Grange's statue outside the football stadium. But regarding the OP, I do like those uniforms. Classic yet with a modern feel.
Looks about as good as you can look with the color orange, and the letter I and the word Illinois. Well done.

I don't like the gray ones. Nike is really pushing gray for some reason, adding a gray uniform to every school, it seems.
Otherwise the design is OK, but the italicized lettering seems overly cute.

Lipstick on a pig and all.

Illinois is not thug enough to be Nike elite. Looks decent though.

The basketball ones are awesome

I know it is more dramatic to use a black background, but how about showing the uniforms in a setting that, at least somehwat, represents how they will actually be seen? Perhaps on a football field in the daylight?
As it is, they look fine, but you can't really tell because there are shadows all over everything.
It'd be great if we could all drop the spelling of uniforms with a z. It's not clever or cute anymore. So, thank you to the OP.
