OT: Hotel Room for OSU
Just checking if anyone has an extra room that they’re planning on releasing back to the hotel chain. My wife surprised me with tickets for my birthday and I’m now looking for a hotel.
apologies if this type of post is not allowed; if so I will delete.

Might have better luck with AirBnB

appreciate the post, but every year people reserve a block of rooms 'just in case' and many get released back to the hotel. was hoping to grab one of those.

Look on Craig's List for someone looking for a roommate. Totally safe and people never get murdered this way.

Sleep in your car. It's The Game.

She's a keeper.

Good luck, pal. Any hotel within a 5-10 mile radius of town (maybe more) is going to be booked solid. I know with the Bell Tower, for example, if you don't call the first day you can reserve rooms for the OSU game, like a year or two in advance, they're all booked up by the end of that day. If you're coming from out of town, you may honestly have better luck staying at the Westin at the airport.
Other than that, I'd say try AirBnB. I just checked it out and there are places available in town. You'd just better be ready to shell out some money. Most places were in the $350-$500 range per night. In some cases, even more.

The game is at noon. Get a room anywhere within 60 miles (Toledo comes to mind) and drive up that morning. You'll have plenty of time to wander around before the game.

I am 3 miles from the stadium. You can stay at my place!!! I call "Big Spoon"!!!

Doesn't look comfortable FauxMo and the drafts/moisture he'd probably catch his death there

What direction are you coming from?
There is a Best Western @ US 23 & M 59. Inexpensive and easy access to AA.
Good luck and GO BLUE ? ?

Try looking in South Lyon or Ypsi.

Try hotels at metro airport. It’s about a 25-30 minute drive.

You can sleep with Charlie and I, in our crevice.

Only if you vote for using blankets, need a majority.

There is still availability although you should book right away.
What's your budget per night?
November 18th, 2019 at 2:19 PM ^
I mean, I'm going to the game no matter what, even if I need to drive in from Cleveland the morning of the game.
Would prefer to be around $250-300 a night (if that's possible, I have no idea)

It is possible right now, especially if you are willing to get creative with the dates. if you just search for the Friday night you will find rooms of $700-1000 or sold out. If you plug in Thursday and Friday, via cursory Expedia search properties are available for $150-250/nightly so $300-500 for two nights. The catch is, if you weren't planning on being in town Thanksgiving night, you could ask a friend to check in for you and either hold the keys, or get new keys on arrival.
Staybridge Suites is showing $200/night, very convenient location, breakfast, parking. New hotel, your wife would likely enjoy.

Holiday Inn on Boardwalk, $185/night for 2 nights. It's right across the street from the pricier Sheraton ($249/nt). Both near Briarwood, easy Uber or walk to the stadium if not too cold.
Exact same hotel shows sold out if I change the date to Friday night only.

thank you! and just for an fyi; $250-300 per night. So your suggestions are perfect.

Apparently I'm the only one who thought this thread was going to be about OSU's hotel room.

I did too!

Turn off their hot water, like the fine folks in Cbus have done on more than one occasion.

OP: Tru by Hilton in Jackson. 30+ easy miles, under $100.

Plenty of places available in the $200s. You can get a room around 15-20 mins away for under $150. Staying downtown will cost you, however

How much for the tickets?

You can tell the members of this board are still in a good mood.

The Even by Briarwood has space (was the Holiday Inn Express until a couple weeks ago) per the IHG app. I stayed there during renovations for the ND game and the Iowa game. They offer a shuttle, but I took and Uber. It's also only about a 45 minute walk to the stadium.
Also, Holiday Inn up by North Campus is available per the same IHG app. I had originally booked that room but got a room at the League (!) off the waiting list a few weeks ago.
Both of these places were under $300.
Good luck and Go Blue!

I was able to book The Even for dirt cheap. Thank you!! I have an extra $300 to spend at the MDEN now. Haha

Unless you were planning to walk to the game, stay in Brighton. Lots of relatively cheap hotel rooms 20 minutes away.

St. John in Plymouth easy commute
November 18th, 2019 at 6:32 PM ^
For 600$ I will let you stay at my place. Take you to and from the game and wont give you shit after the game is over either.

I used to stay on Ford Road in Canton. Not a bad drive and rooms were always under $100. A few places to eat there and of course, The Rusty Nail.
Have fun. #GoBlue!

Holiday Inn Express on Zeeb Rd in Ann Arbor still has room. We just stayed there this past Friday night for the MSU game. Nice place. Enjoy the game!

Are you coming coming in from the west, east, north, or the ohio cesspool?
November 18th, 2019 at 8:58 PM ^
I believe that noon on Thursday is when sites like hotels.com release back the Friday nights. Get on the hotel chain’s own website at noon and there might be something available.
