Much better game,  2 more wins and time for the match up of the 2 biggest losers in sports history.

loser fans nationwide without having to celebrate their team here. I mean if they can't beat a one-man starting staff in LA after having won 103 games this season, and batting a measley .200 in the playoffs, they don't deserve to face a Cleveland team which has enough pitching to shut anyone down and sweep them.

Cleveland being Cleveland, however, and facing the Cubs would be like watching two historically bad franchises celebrate bad karma and then watching as their fan base creates a new legend for having failed again when either loses. One team hasn't been to a WS since 1954 and the other since 1945. And only grandparents with long memories know that. Of course, the Cubs haven't won a WS since the early oughts before ivy was grown at Wrigley.

Do you know the reason why people in Ohio root for the Buckeyes with greater passion than any of their other sorry teams? It's because it's the only one that ever wins anything.

only one of the biggest losers can win.

if history has anything to do with this, she will

1 - have the dodgers beat the cubs in agonizing fashion

2 - repeat her cruelty against the indians

Blah. Screw everything related to Ohio, and there are far too many people who like the Cubs for their "lovable loser" crap. They can bite me too.

But if it comes down to it, meteor.

If the Cubs win the World Series it will take some of the fun out of baseball and its history. It'd be nice for the Cubs to finally win but at the same time it'd be fun if they didn't.

here come all the people who never watched baseball going "no, really, I've been a Cubs fan my whole life, I just never have ever worn any of their gear or ever been to a game.  But I went to Chicago once.  Great city.  Go Cubs."

Well, my wife is a Cubs fan and she's filled with what might be termed a combination of elation and cautious optimism.

As a Tigers fan, this has me thinking baseball has gone to a weird place in 2016, but that's just me, of course.

24 hours ago the Cubs offense was a national punchline...pretty quiet this morning.

Best of three series now with Kershaw looming in game six. Cubbies had the best home record in the MLB so this has the makings of a classic.

Last nights game was important but tonight's is huge!

There are so many ways to look at this.  There are:

- The Killer C's Series.

- The I-90 Series.

- The "so now will they FINALLY shut up about it?!" Series - Part 2.  (The Red Sox winning their first championship was Part 1.)

- The Air and Space Series.  As in:

-- Things that have happened since the last Cubs championship: consistent powered flight.  (The Wright brother's first flight was in 1903, and the last Cubs championship was in 1908, but you get the idea.)

-- Things that have happened since the last Indians championship: manmade objects achieved near earth orbit.
