OT- Gambling & MgoDonations
So I had an idea that may be pretty good or may flame out like most of my brilliant ideas. In an effort to support the long term health of MGoBlog, how about we have some fun while driving donations? I'm thinking we can all announce to the world some kind of locks of the week, or whatever you want to call it, and tie it to a donation. You lose, you donate whatever amount you put on it. If you win, you get, uh, nothing. Obviously, on your honor, men. I know many of you are still in school, and my career has certainly been a disappointment to everyone involved, so $$ is whatever you can swing. I'll start:
$10 on Rice +9
$30 on Purdue +20

Globetrotters -14 $35

Krusty's Accountant: Let me get this straight. You took all the money you made franchising your name and bet it *against* the Harlem Globetrotters?
Krusty the Clown: [miserable] Oh, I thought the Generals were due!
[watches the game on TV]
Krusty the Clown: He's spinning the ball on his finger! Just take it! Take it!
[the Globetrotters score]
Krusty the Clown: That game was fixed! They were using a freakin' ladder, for God's sake!

have to make that a -24. Have you seen this secret play?
November 19th, 2010 at 12:44 AM ^
True. And add 4 more points for the punter facemask. Circa Matt Bahr.

I never could understand having one of those facemasks. Was it because it was required that you had to have one, so they just gave it one bar? Preference?

Kickers rocked 'em to show off their looks. Single bar on a LB? That's MF'n Hard Edge.

And in the end, as it turned out, he should have known, everyone else surely did, the idea was not so good.

it might be a great idea, but I am not sure you would legally be allowed to bet on college games even if it is for donation. I do like where you are coming from though.

Since there's no "winning" in the form of money to take for a successful wager. It's more like a pledge akin to conditional donations for charity runs (i.e. I will give $20 if you complete one mile). I don't know that, though.

It's a great idea man. No worries.

Creative and would provide an added element of interest to other games. Good idea.
