OT: Former 5 Star Recruit Arthur Brown Jr leaves Miami

Submitted by Hoken's Heroes on
I did a search and didn't see this posted. Looks like 5 Star Recruit Arthur Brown Jr has left Miami. It appears it was his Dad's decision to pull him out. I wonder if he was getting into things he shouldn't have while there? http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/colleges/um/story/1459302.html#Commen… http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/columnists/barry-jackson/story/147916…

This kid looked like a stud coming out of high school. What's with 5-star kids going to Miami and then bombing? Not even just 5-star players, but 5-star linebackers in particular.

Don't be so snobby, we sure don't like it when other programs' fans make stupid assumptions without knowing the facts. Story goes as this, during Arthur's freshman year at Miami, his younger brother was being recruited heavily in the south (Bryce Brown). He was a Miami lock until signing day when he was snakeoiled by Kiffin and he betrayed the coaches, his brother, and the UM coaching staff who had treated him very nicely. Only days after his SD duechebaggery, Arthur brings him to the Miami locker room and Bryce is lounging around on the couches when a few seniors saw him, bitched out Arthur and physically removed Bryce from the locker room...telling him...it's a place for Canes only...no posers. Needless to say the Brown family left a very sour feeling with the kids and the coaches and Arthur was pretty much shunned last season, so it was well known that he would transfer.

So that makes it OK for the Miami program to treat the two like garbage...? That story is enough for me to be snobby towards the Miami program. I find it hard to believe that Michigan would allow it's coaches and/or players to shun someone's family member. Perfect examples: The Forciers. Bryce wanted to go to Tennessee, so what? It's his decision (albeit cash flow or not) on what he wants to do with his life. That's no cause or reason to treat someone like crap. However, if Bryce was acting like a total ass, then I believe the team deserves all right to shun him from the locker room.

Completely different circumstances. It's not like Bryce went to Miami, and the transferred to a rival team in Miami's own division and paying his way through college. Nor did Bryce bad-mouth Miami through the media. Also, there isn't a current player on the team related to the Borens, whereas Jason transferred to Stanford and almost ended up suiting back up for Michigan last year.

I grew up a huge Hurricane fan (and still am) before I came to U of M as a student, and I still watch most of their games when I can. I can confidently say that all the recruiting experts completely missed on this kid. He couldn't get on the field, and Miami has been far from being "Miami." It's addition by subtraction. Also let me clarify that when Bryce Brown was being a d-bag, Randy Shannon pulled his scholarship, and it was after signing day. Good riddance to the entire family.

Minnesota? Montana? Maine? Marmot School of Marmotry? WHICH U OF M, DAMMIT? You can't do the Gratuitous Michigan Student Drop Shuffle and not say Michigan! There are way too many U of M's nowaday. Even Latwan Anderson has us all cormfuzzlebuggied because he said "UM is in my Top Three." See how much confusion this causes?

Forgive me genius...I am now a student at the University of Michigan. Happy??? I can see that by your -17 points your opinion obviously matters to the world. I thought this was a Michigan blog. I don't think I would talk about being a student at the University of (Insert a not very cleverly thought of school starting with M).
