We'll be seeing even more competition for a lot of our recruits. We're already starting to go up frequently against the schools that take those one and dones.
Good for him. I hope it works out for him.
Why would a kid who is not aiming to complete a college degree play one year in college unpaid if he has this type of earning potential at 18? Most of us strive to reach 6 figures and this kid has already achieved 10 years of a 6 figure lifestyle. N OT to mention he is a year closer to his rookie contract that will be approximately 10 million give or take. He will make around 12 mil before he's 22. At that point to hell with a degree. I'm sorry. This will only apply to the elite high school players but this is no way to downplay that type of money at that age. We go to school to increase earning potential. Mudiay is already tapping into his. No program is going to throw a couple classes/nike Gear and meal plans at him in return for elite play that will pack the house and liquify into profits. I love Michigan basketball but this move here might have some serious outreach in MBB. It's a sort of power move that strips the NCAA of their monopoly. Great for Mundiay. Even if he is a bust....he's netted 10 years of 6figure salary and can enroll in school and get his degree in whatever he chooses.
agree
I don't mind one bit. If a kid wants to get paid, let him. I'll still be watching UM, and hopefully more guys stick around for 4 years.
That is a crazy amount of money for this young man. At this point, at least, it appears he has made a wise decision in electing to forgo his college basketball eligibilty to play against some tough pros.
I'd prefer more one and dones go this route. IMO, hey hurt MBB and I think the sport is better without them.
is 1 big shit hole, with footprints!
