After a weak first we pick it up big time in the second! We have the momentum and we need to just keep putting the pressure on them. Here we go boys! Don't stop believing! We are going to do it!

Every single time. They rush the net, 2 or 3 of our guys go after him, and then 1 Nashville player comes in late for a 1 on 1 with Jimmy

This series has shown me this team is not built for the playoffs.  We need to rebuild the D with big, strong and physical guys.  I think we are too soft on D right now.

OT and sorry to put in this thread, but I can't make my own.  Manny Harris probably just finished the best game of his young NBA career. Scored 19 and pulled down 12 boards in a Cleveland win over the New York Knicks tonight.  Glad he has found a role on an NBA team, albeit not a very good one.

The Wings have been the best pro sports organization in the country over the last 20 years.

Win or lose - I love 'em.  The winged wheel is the closest thing commercial sports have to philosophy.  For fuck's sake i didn't mean to wax sentimental about hockey.

I don't think this is a team you can even talk about "blowing up"... that might yet be another couple years down the road. There's a solid core, as evidenced by the fact that we were the best team in the West for half a season. But this series serves as a harsh reality-check (I think the signs were there for the last month of the season) that there are serious pieces missing. Most evident from this series is that we need a pure goal-scorer, ala a Malkin or a Stamkos (obviously not those guys, but that type of player).

That, and there was just a serious lack of grit this series, which I can't really explain. Would've liked to see more out of Abdelkader and Miller this series. And we obviously miss Helm in that category. And don't even get me started on Franzen.

He said the usual: he's going to take a few weeks; also talk to Ken Holland and see what his timetable is.

For those who may have missed it: early in the game FSD showed a clip of a press conference with Coach Babcock, who said about Lidstrom (and this may not be exact), "I can't think of anything more exciting than playing hockey at a high level.  Plus I know his wife, and I know she doesn't want him home, so ...."

... come back, Nick!
