Yeah, kind of felt the same thing when I read it, but then I watched the presser.  He talks about Williams for several minutes.  90% of what he says is critical. Throws in a "did some good things" maybe two times.  That's it. The rest of it is critical of everything Williams did or didn't do - poor pocket posture, poor eyes, missing open receivers, missing check down, taking sacks when he could just throw the ball away.  And while everything he says may be true, you have to wonder if this motivates the kid or if it goes another way.

I mean you started a True Freshman LT who was the 1415 ranked recruit in this class! Left Tackle is never a position you want to start a true freshman at; let alone a guy outside the top 1000. These players are players who you don’t have sniff the rotation until year 3 or 4.

Also, we almost had Enos and Pep...on the same staff. All we needed was to bring Funk back to make it real legendary.

If their kicker makes a 27 yard FG Miami probably does win.

I'll reserve judgment on just how horrible Enos' comment was. I'd like to know what he's saying to the QB in person. Different players need different kinds of motivation.

If he's telling him that he has confidence in him, but he knows he can play better.  That he's going to let him play through mistakes and keep his starting job, then he just comes off as a jerk. If he replaces Williams in the lineup soon, he comes off as a bigger jerk.

As an aside, I wonder if Diaz has given Enos authority to decide who starts at QB? It's a big decision for a HC to delegate.

Misleading headline.

He didn't say Williams isn't a good enough QB to win. He said the QB didn't play well enough to win. Which was true. It's motivational coaching 101: it challenges the QB to step up, and the players around him (especially that sieve of an OL) to stand up for him.

I think it was more of the lines fault then his.  Plus how can you throw him under the bus unless he wanted Tate and Diaz wanted Williams.    Plus F!@k Enos he is  former Sparty trash

Well.....he didn’t. But in all fairness to him, with as bad as Miami’s OL was on Saturday, and it was B-A-D, BAD, Williams was not even remotely put in a position to succeed.

The whole offense, including Enos himself, is to blame.

Welp Looks like my post about Enos the other day turned out to be rather prophetic.

Dude's a piece of work.

*oops, not work... shit. Dude's a piece of shit.

Yikes...that's brutal honesty.  I'm not sure you want to be that transparent with a RS freshman making his first start against a top defense on the road.  Apparently Enos does not believe in protecting his players.  More like Dan Ego..s.

As a few other posters have suggested, his statements make me wonder if he and Diaz had a different opinion as to which QB should start. Even if that's the case though, it's a shitty thing to publicly throw the player under the bus, no matter what his intent.

Wow, he’s an embarrassment to the program. The only mistake Williams made the whole game was a few times where he should’ve thrown three ball away earlier. Other than that, he just started his first game against a top ten team and had no turnovers. I chalk that up to poor play calling and horrible offensive line play as well as a lack of discipline all around (240 yards of penalties). Really bad way to build up a new QB who played pretty well given the circumstances.

Also, I’m a U Miami student and the negative chatter after that game was like 99.5% on the o-line, not Williams. Oh well, Sparties gonna Sparty.

Yeah, I going to agree with others saying Miami's oline was the real problem. I was seriously getting PTSD flashbacks watching that game to poor Devin Gardner under Hoke with how atrocious their pass blocking was.
