OT: Clarkston announces Justin Pintar as new football coach
With the break in NCAA Tournament action, thought I would share some Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) football news for those interested.
The Clarkston Wolves announced Justin Pintar as their new football coach Tuesday evening, succeeding 35-year veteran Kurt Richardson.
Pintar was Richardson's OL coach and has helped the program develop into one of the best in the state.
Interestingly, he will be the Oakland Activities Association's (OAA) fourth new head coach in 2022, joining Chris Bell (Lake Orion), Tom Cook (Troy Athens), and Dustyn Truitt (Royal Oak).
Bell, who is also the Dragons' AD, is entering his second stint at the helm of Lake Orion, having previously guided the program from 1998-2016.
Go Blue, beat Villanova!
thank you for sharing this valuable information
Clarkston has shown some signs of wear. I think it was a good time for this move.
This is a few months old, but felt relevant.
Jermaine Gonzales is now the head coach at OLSM, where he replaced HOF head coach George Porritt after 32 years.
Championships, and D1 athletes is what the Eaglets do.
The red turf has sent some great players to Michigan, and now with JG at the helm OL to AA funnel is open. Add in AK running the recruiting dept, and both Ross brothers advocating for kids to GO BLUE this should be a fruitful next 20 years. JG and AK accompanied a young eaglet 2024 DB to practice on Saturday, sounds like he's trending Blue along with their all word frosh pg Trey McKinney.
OLSM > AA
Diallo Johnson, David Bowens, Ghost of Jermaine, Maurice Breeze Searight, Ross Bros, Grant Mason, and Morgan Trent etc.
Misses and mostly not offered: Josh Bourke, Charles Davis, Kalin Lucas, Allen Robinson, Speedy Eaglet, and Van Jefferson etc.

Cheers
Van Jefferson? Is that a different Van Jefferson than the Rams WR that went to Ole Miss / Florida and almost came to Michigan with Shea?
His 247 page says that he is from Tennessee.
His father coached for the Lions before moving to the Titans, so I assume he spent some of his HS years in Michigan.

It's the same Van Jefferson. He went to St. Mary's when his dad was with the Lions, but he transferred to Tennessee for his senior year (it might have been his junior year, too, I don't remember).
Yeah he was at OLSM as a Frosh and Sophomore and then transferred for his Junior and Senior years when they moved.
My daughter is playing JV softbll and they have a new JV coach this year too.
I'd say that's slightly more important information than what was related in the OP.
Way Way Way OT: Clarkston announces Justin Pintar as new football coach
Fixed that for you.
Are there any Fife brothers left?

No. They are fresh out of Fifes and Loyers.
And Leon's getting larger!
Take the last train to Clarkston, and Justin Pintar will meet you at the station.

MHSAA basketball Final Four looks interesting this year also. Grand Blanc looking to go B2B.
Agreed!
Grand Blanc had an impressive win over Detroit Catholic Central last night, I think they'll beat Belleville on Friday, too.
