OT- All-encompassing Tigers Game 3 Thread
C'mon, Doug Fister.
Also, regardless of what happens, let this be the ONLY Tigers thread tonight.

If Game 5 at Yankee Stadium didn't convince them, they can't be convinced, so tonight probably didn't change a thing.
The rest of us, though, LOVE this dude.

him in the post-season and think his 4.76 ERA is deceptive, his Siera coming into tonight was 3.32 for the playoffs. It surely went under 3 tonight.

I've seen better Sieras...

traded Cecil Fielder for. The 9-year-old version of MichFan1997 was devastated that day.

the Fister trade. He is one of the big reasons this team is in the playoffs to begin with and pitched just as well, if not better than Verlander down the stretch and won game 5 in NY. And the kicker is he is still under contract for a couple of more years. Fister has been one of the better trade deadline acquisitions in Tigers history. I mean sure would it be nice to have a guy like Wells on the bench given the injury situation? Absolutely, but I will take Fister over all the guys traded in that deal combined.
In short, anybody who questions the Fister trade needs to have their head examined.

Young may be able to go tommorow with a left hander on the mound or is he pretty much done for this series?

Being a Mariners fan I was upset to see Fister go. Being a Tigers fan I was happy to see that Detroit is where he ended up. I enjoyed watching him play in Seattle while he was around. Detroit did well in that trade.

October 11th, 2011 at 11:13 PM ^
It would be no fun if everything was automatic? Right?
/Okay. Maybe not.

Great win tonight. Hopefully they can build on it and do it again tomorrow.

player than some people around baseball, give him credit for. Valverde remains perfect, despite there being a little drama.

we need Porcello to be big tomm.

Which Doug is taller?
Fister or Karsch?
October 11th, 2011 at 11:42 PM ^
Fister, but just barely.
October 11th, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
thing is that Porcello is a ground ball pitcher, who doesn't give up a lot of home runs, and the Rangers are a team that likes to hit the ball out of the ballpark. Still a must win tommorow, no way they win this series if they go down 3-1 with game 6 and 7 being in Texas.
October 11th, 2011 at 11:27 PM ^
exactly average with the home run rate. The thing he's REALLY good at tho is keeping the ball out of the air.
October 11th, 2011 at 11:43 PM ^
give up a ton of home runs. Average is still better than a ton. Obviously Porcello will still give up quite a few a hits, as usual, but as long as they mostly singles and not hrs I like the Tigers chances tommorow.

on the information you gave, I was just adding to it.
October 11th, 2011 at 11:47 PM ^
that case.
