OT - 4 AM viewing of Minnesota '08

Submitted by BlueDragon on

I've been working my way backwards through the RR era of Wolverine Historian videos, and I've finally arrived at the great Minnesota '08 game.  Think of the memories:

Sheridan looks like Brett Favre for a day.  Michigan keeps the Little Brown Jug.  Morgan Trent is still playing for Michigan.  Zoltan's fake punt on 4th and 3.  Michigan makes FIVE field goals in a single game!

Yes, it was ugly, and yes, I'd rather forget almost all of 2008, but this game was special.  Even if RR isn't back next year I still had a lot of fun cheering for his teams as a fan and I still will root for M no matter what the coaching situation is next year.

I live in Minneapolis and attend Mich-Minn games with a local friend who is a gopher fan.  This was a game he thought they would finally win.  It was almost as enjoyable as the Navarre led 4th quarter comeback.  These were oh, so enjoyable!

Bravo to you for your dedication to finding highlights. Too bad it took you to 4am to do so. You could have seen the Indiana and Notre Dame games from this season too.

were my favorite moments of '08, although TBH I generally don't remember this game because it just seemed like such a bizarre outlier. Sheridan carved up the defense-- repeat that a few times and you'll see why I can still barely process this game in my memory.

A nice use of 4AM!

Mathew's one-handed grab was sick. The 48-yard field goal? Awesome. Long runs by Shaw and Minor. A smothering defense. And Sam McGuffie.

Today will be a good day.
