Orange Bowl Seating Map and Information
Haven't seen a post with full information yet, so making this for everyone looking for tickets.
https://www.orangebowl.org/thegame/info/seatingchart/
Important Information:
- Michigan is HOME or TEAM 1
- The University of Michigan ticket allotment is Sections ending in 18-33 (specifically 118-132, 222-223, 228-229, 318-333.
- This mean Michigan's allotment is in the NORTHEAST corner of the stadium, even though the team will be on the South sideline.
- Georgia's allotment is on the NORTHWEST side.
- The SW and SE corners are more mixed/neutral in their distribution, but in general the SW is likely to be more UGA and SE more U of M.
- Georgia's allotment will be on the North and West sides of the stadium opposite Michigan (roughly sections ending in 03-18).
- Michigan's painted end zone, band and student section will be on the East Side (129-132). Georgia will be on the West side of the stadium, their student section/band will likely be in the 104-107 area).
- The South side of the stadium tickets are distributed to non-school entities (Dolphin's season ticket orders, corporate tickets, etc.).
- The South sideline is thus likely to be more mixed with resale and neutral third parties, but in general you want to be in the EAST half of the stadium to be more on the Michigan side (sections 18-46).

My ticket request was fulfilled!
I'm not a major donor but must be high enough on the Victors Points list to have gotten tickets!
Flights out of Detroit are already either sold out or $1-1,500. Ugh. Somehow we'll figure it out.
Go Blue!

Try leaving out of Lansing or Grand Rapids. Sometimes that works, even if you have to transfer at DTW. But, Lansing and Grand Rapids can get you connections in Chicago, Minneapolis and elsewhere.

Flint airport is also an option. Closer to Detroit than GR or Lansing.

If you can't figure it out for some reason, I'd be happy to pay a premium for your tickets. Just let me know and I'll provide contact info.
I'm lucky enough to already have a trip planned to Miami over the holidays with the family (unrelated to football).

Edit: The tickets sold. Thank you to everyone that contacted me.

What's your Vector, Victor?
I'm sure I'll figure out how to get there. I typically prefer to fly direct, but for this game, I'll go thru another city if I have to.
Go Blue!

Flint and Lansing departures to Miami don't appear to be cheaper than Detroit. Cleveland and Toronto look to be cheaper, but both involve some additional logistics.
If you're willing to take Spirit out of Cleveland, it's a lot cheaper.

We decided to go with the alumni association package that includes the chartered flight. Expensive but I told myself I wouldn’t miss another chance for a huge game after I didn’t attend the 1997 Rose Bowl.

Everyone else should fly to Fort Lauderdale. Much cheaper and easy to get to Miami.

Once you add in the fact that Hard Rock Stadium is actually closer to FLL and I think that it's the better option in general.
I'm a Miami resident and I'd strongly suggest visitors stay in Fort Lauderdale or Hollywood (or maybe even Sunny Isles Beach) if your intent is to go to the game and maybe get some beach time. Miami/Miami Beach is going to be more expensive and much further away.

Rental car trivia. You can rent from any airport in Florida and return to any other airport and there is no one way fee. Fly into whatever city is a reasonable drive away, rent a car, and return to any other reasonable drive city. Buying tickets from DTW and flying into one city and out of another is called an open jaw. You will pay the equivalent of 1/2 of what the round trips would cost to each city. Travel hacking lesson is now over.... :)

I Live in Tampa (did not get my request for tickets filled). However, think tampa/Orlando/sarasota/ft meyers as flight options as well.

I'm in section 302 because it's what I could get but Michigan is in the playoff and I'm going so I don't much care where I sit.

I'm in 303 and feel the same!

I appreciate your research! Trying hard as hell to convince any of my buddies that there are worse places to spend NYE than in Miami, while simultaneously watching our team compete in their first ever playoff!

OP, very helpful, did not see that seating chart before. Is there similar info for the CFP final? Where would M be, presumably as the away team if Bama wins? Based on what happened with semi-final ticket prices, think it might be worthwhile to just buy ahead now and re-sell to some Georgia fan if needed (though obviously we hope it is not!).

Ugh. Got rejected for seats. If anyone has 2-4 seats for a reasonable amount, I promise I’ll cheer loud enough for the entire game for our incredible Wolverines. GO BLUE!

Looks like we missed out on tickets from the University. Called Orange Bowl directly and was able to secure SRO tickets in NE end of endzone. Section 326 I believe. Was told by the rep that Michigan is on the North side of the field (vs. south as stated above).
the rep told me that prior to the game, Georgia fans were all in and then, once the we won, it was all Michigan. They sold out quicker than they ever have.
Glad to be in the ballpark. Go Blue!

Hope your rep is mistaken, I got section 347 based on the FAQs on the Orange Bowl site saying Michigan, as home team, is on the south side.

Pulled the trigger on StubHub. Stupid amount of money but I’m sitting on the 40.

Thinking about doing the same. I rarely go to sporting events but when I do, I want good seats and I'm willing to pay extra, especially for an event like this. It's a YOLO thing.

Exactly my thoughts. I had a smile on my face letting my card company know that it was not a fraudulent transaction.

Useful information. TY
Turns out jamming two fanbases whose on campus stadiums hold 110,000 and 90,000 doesn't work well in a 65,000 seat venue.

great info on seating. Interesting in 2016 game vs FSU my tickets purchased through the University were in section 242 and that is not allotted to either school this year.
