spoiler alert: i linked this
I hate how like half the countries in the world have red white and blue in their flags too. Get your own colors, world.
Sweden has the best colors, obviously.
Yes how dare they have flags that existed before ours. We should force them to change /s
in 1920? Of course, It has changed a few times in the ensuing years, not always from choice.
if one stretches Minnesota's color to be "red." They could have split the conference into the Red and Not Red divisions.
Tough luck and we are tied. Pretty weak goals both ways.
2-1 US, Dustin Brown scores with 5 left in the 1st
Thanks sitting in the wifes hair salon waiting for her to be done.
Is that goal regulation size or what!?
LETS GO! what a pass
Must have a pretty long delay, saw the goal posted here before the live feed showed it.
Do not want this to be a one-goal game late (or early). Put your boot on their neck.
have the link for the live feed?
thanks a bunch!!!
1-1; Canadians significantly outshooting Latvia.
Cant hear Latvia without thinking of Costanza
1.8 to go. Well-done, boys!!
3-1 after a goal with 1.8 seconds left. Backes is having a nice game. Let's go baby!
Awesome goal with 1 second left to push it to 3-1
At the end of the period for some much needed breathing room.
BIG late goal there.
What a shot!
3-1 after the first, and US isn't even playing their best hockey.
How in the hell does that puck find the net? Wow! USA BABY!
Got some weird looks when I jumped out of my chair fist pumping...
LINK - if anyone is interested, I keep the ESPN box score up with the stream so I can see the numbers update periodically.
We've taken 9 shots on goal to 7 for the Czech Republic, so that's 6 saves for both Quick and Pavelec. We've also registered six assists (didn't think it was that many honestly) to their zero, unless ESPN is going haywire.
Czech's goal was an own goal by our D-men so dont think they hand out assists for that
Love to see them come out that way in second and get this one done. Next goal very large.
Are International refs always this passive? They seem to be letting a lot go in most the games I've seen.
with the russians out I am not pulling of the U.S.A. to win it all.
are belong to us!
and this one is done.
Canada/Latvia still tied, despite huge shot differential (30-8). Sweater will start to get tight if this goes on or if Latvia can catch a break.
Canada locked 1-1 with Latvia
up against a wall today (1 goal on 30 shots after 2). Longer it goes on like this, the bigger factor the hockey gods will play in the outcome. Hard to see them dropping this one, but stranger things have happened.
On 1:27 PP to start 3rd; Canada has time and fresh ice to get that next goal.
Canada put up 60 shots on a goalie playing amazingly well. Grind and win. Always.
Welcome to Canadian hockey.
I'm talking trash to a coworker in Prague right now.
Me: you watching the hockey game?
CW: watching how we suck, yes.
Me: go USA
CW: Another goal. I hate hockey.
to watch the Canada game.
bupkes to show for it. Still 1-1, under 12:00
Hockey gods -- this one is officially all yours.
Penalty shot for Canada?
said "Da Fuck?!"
Hah even in international competition Ryan Getzlaf finds a way to, "goon it up."
Under 9. Next goal.
I really hope USA plays Latvia rather than Canada.
So when are the Canadian forwards going to show up?
absolute end of P. 2-1. See if Latvia has anything left. Doubt it.
I have all the confidence in the world in our team
I heard this same narràtive 4 years ago.
We know how that worked out.
...or every year from Canadians around WJC time.
I guess we only win in groups of 5 for WJC? Oh, well.
Heh. It's not like I'd even brought up Salt Lake City.
A 5-2 loss during round robin and an OT win? You can brag if you want, guess Canada doesn't have much else going for it, but that's not exactly a resounding victory. Especially for a country that hangs it's hat on one sport.
Should be a helluva game.
Pretty cool that each semi final game will be between rival, bordering countries.
Revenge on Friday!!
Even though it might make Nik Stauskas mad
He would be mad.
Me too, btw.
I've had a good feeling about this team ever since seeing the reaction on the faces of the US players 4 years ago in Vancouver. Gone were the postgame smiles and hugs between NHL teammates that we saw in 2002. This team gets it... gold or bust!
Hagelin shook off a dirty elbow to the head to score 2.
