Well Washington may be in the conference soon so don't fret over that one just yet
And they may get a return trip from us a little sooner after the 2020 opener was cancelled
Not sure why we would cancel the OU/Texas series.
The OU/Texas games will be cancelled by mutual agreement so the teams involved can play other teams in their new conferences. OU/Texas can play other teams in the SEC and Michigan can play teams on the West Coast.
What about non-conference games? We can't play UConn every year
Even before the news today and how big OOC games get cancelled, I was always thinking these games might not play anyway. I'll believe it when I see it.
My guess is that OU and Texas gets cancelled. Michigan owes Washington a game
Dude, it is done. Not sure what the big ten means. Not sure what college athletics means. Perhaps David Brandon’s advice is applicable to me here. Good night sweet UM bloggers
Why would Texas and OU get cancelled? They are not in our conference. We have no idea if Michigan will even play USC or UCLA during the relevant years, and if we do, USC is functionally no different from playing Penn St or Wisconsin.
Okay person, please explain it to us, you seem so smart. Can we be friends? Your genitlas must be the best. Hope your truck/hybrid is super fly.
I really don’t like that people don’t like the mention of a cartoon character being married to a same sex cartoon character.
The idea that white pants is faux pas past Labor Day is crazy

I must have missed something because all I can see is you replying to yourself over and over again.
I mean all work an no play make Jack a dull boy, but I think Cabin fever has gotten the best of ReDRum
That means you haven’t missed anything.
was gonna post this ... well done and +1
I think college sports has touched him in a bad place and he's checking out.
I think it will take quite a few posts to lose all his mgopoints.
I'm guessing he got hacked/left a browser open for a roommate to hop on.
It won't get scrapped because starting in 2025, the B1G and SEC challenge will highlight the OOC calendar. We'll still play OU and Texas and OSU will get Vandy and South Carolina because fair is fair.
Naw they'll get replaced by Bama and Georgia
To be honest, I wouldn't totally mind that if we had an expanded playoff. Playing FSU and Washington in the 1991 season made us realize that we were good, but needed to get faster. Playing the top of the SEC would give us an up front picture of where we need to improve.
I thought Georgia did that already.
ouch - that still stings a bit

If we’re being real, the idea of the original big ten died with Nebraska and was steamrolled and buried with the addition of Rutgers and Maryland. I think all this means is that teams will only play schedules within their own super conference and maybe like one cupcake game? Definitely is weird, but I’m all for more competitive and interesting football games and we could do a lot worse than USC and UCLA
Yeah. OOC is probably done unless it is a cupcake. There could be a game or two here and there in the conference with SEC or ACC, but it will difficult given the gauntlet in B1G.
Yea, the big ten used to be a league, and us now a media company. I wish we'd call it something else because a 20 team league is such a different thing than a 10 team league.
The sport is and has changed. I like the way it was and am saddened by the killing of traditional matchups but...we could do a lot worse
I’m with you on this, but I think we’ve entered an era of either eat or be eaten. For once I feel like we’re ahead of the SEC on this point. If the scavenging of the PAC-12 was inevitable, I’d rather it be us getting the pick of the litter.
The B1G can rename itself the Manifest Destiny conference.
Not a chance of any. Before this is over there will be a ban on travel to/from SEC states. And economic sanctions.
I am dreading the idea of 10pm kickoffs
Unless you're planning on watching a different team than Michigan I doubt you'll have to worry about it too much. When Michigan (or OSU) play out there it will likely be the 8 pm primetime slot.
Welcome to reminders of the Red Wings in the Western Conference.
We are going to have two super conferences, with the old power five making up the division realignment within the two super conferences.
Full circle.
im just here for the redrum self-immolation.
should i be listening to vicarious (tool) as i watch?
