One thing that made me happy yesterday (other than the win)

One thing that made me excessively happy (other than the win). I was extremely happy to see coach turn to Hopkins on the third and goal to ice the game instead of running Vincent Smith up the gut on the short yardage . Hope to see more big things from Hopkins when Coach needs to turn to the power game. I admit I have dreams of a three headed rushing monster of Dee Hart, Hopkins and Denard decimating the Big Ten in the near future.

 

SIDENOTE: Props to the men's soccer team on the Big Ten Tourney win this afternoon.

He also carried the ball on our 4th and 1.  He's been getting more short-yardage chances lately.  He needs to make sure to take care of the ball, though.

why Denard would walk up to the line to take the snap under center, see the Purdue DL who was supposed to be lined up on the center instead standing up and turned around talking to his platoon, and still take the snap and and hand it Shopkins on 4-and-1.  He could have taken the snap, sneezed, wiped with a hankerchief, and still fallen forward for 2 yards.  It was a weird day. 

Still love Shopkins on short yardage generally, though.
