This sport confuses me, but I am enjoying watching it. As a dual citizen, I will figure out who I am cheering for soon.
rugby == football before the forward pass was invented and without downs as we know them (at least that's the easiest way I can think of it)... otherwise known as all the brutality without any of the pads.
actually, the sports are completely different. there are so many different factors that they aren't even close. from player roles and skills to points to even how the game is played and even the small things like time and pace of the game. there are some similarities, but no, it's a completely different game...
it's a world cup qualifying match. loser goes home, i think.
it is a home and home with the next leg being held in edmonton next week ... nice 12-6 win for our country on the fourth
Wait so is it like an aggregate score for the two games?
I played a little rugby as a kid. It is the most grueling sport I've ever tried.
Super exciting match. Defensive struggle. I've been playing with Univ.Nevada Reno team for several months now. We're going to enter a flag football team in the fraternity IM leaque in the fall and try running a touch rugby-like offense but plus passing...should be interesting. USA team captain Todd Clever used to play for Nevada.. he had excellent game yesterday as did no.13 the outside center. It was really really exciting...i wish espn would show us more!
