The Official "Please Stay Denard" thread

Submitted by dr eng1ish on
So, we've all read our new coach's thoughts on the spread. We don't know how that will specifically apply to our situation here and obviously this will be addressed at the presser tomorrow but I figured it could never be too early. Show D-Rob how much you love him here. I'm on my phone otherwise I'd post a badass pic.
We love you Denard!

He doesn't owe it to Hoke, or to Michigan, or to an entitled and spoiled fanbase to have his talents wasted by a MANBALL coach.

Denard, go elsewhere young man. People who are rooting for YOU, rather than being selfish, will still support you.

We'd obviously all love to have him, but if he feels his career would be better served somewhere else, then who could fault him? Most around here will support him either way. I really feel for these players. They're not getting what they "signed up" for, and even though a cc is always a possibility, the prospect of transferring, sitting out a year, and adjusting to a new college isnt that great of an option. All the while, the coaches can change their minds, upsetting the stability of programs, without sitting out a year.

The entire premise of this thread is that he doesn't owe it to us to stay. If I felt entitled about I wouldn't have felt the need to make the thread.

Of course he should do whats best for him but newsflash: fans are selfish. Why would I or anyone else NOT want someone as totally awesome as him to continue playing for us? I'd be stupid not to.

In summary, please keep your conclusion-jumping to yourself. Despite his previous thoughts you have no idea how Coach Hoke plans on using Denard or anyone else.

No question Denard should move his talents to Pitt. Todd Graham runs an excellent spread offense that will allow Denard to thrive. We're blowing up the offense; it's gonna be 2008 redux.

Anyone who thinks Denard should leave please do us all a favor and leave yourself!

Denard has proven through two years at Michigan to be an electric player that we will not be able to replace. His passing accuracy has improved ten fold over two seasons. Give him two more seasons of improvement and he will be the same great runner and he will be able to pass out if the pocket with immense accuracy.

Please don't go Denard!!

Selfish because you want Denard to stay because it's in Michigan's best interest, although it may not be in his best interest.
Arrogant because you say "Anyone who thinks Denard should leave please do us all a favor and leave yourself."
I love Denard and I want him to stay as much as any Michigan fan. The only other Michigan player that got me as excited as Denard was Charles Woodson. Denard is a great player, and his character, personality, and golden smile make him even more lovable. With all that being said, I think he should do whatever he feels is in his best interest. I hope he stays at Michigan, but if he thinks a transfer is in his best interest, I support him 100%.

Denard needs to remember these fans love him. And while our fan base has shown we do not always support our coaches, the team needs to know that we are always loyal to our players and the program they represent. Shoelace!!

Rooting for Denard to stay is like rooting for someone to stay in an abusive relationship.

I'll support the team with or without him, but it would be a crime if his talents were wasted.

Kelvin Grady twitter post: Stop watching the news.. We have our coach we greet him tomorrow and everyone. (EVERYONE) is staying. Why? Cause those who stay will be?

He's going to sit out a year and be handed a starting qb gig (maybe) at a lower tier school? Why not prove yourself a true QB who can run (instead of opposite) and set yourself up for the NFL? How many pro teams run the spread again? If he's planning on switching positions he can just as easily do so in a new offense at Michigan.
