Now the Sparty loss doesn't hurt as much

Submitted by Darth Wolverine on

The Sparty loss does not hurt nearly as much now that we #BeatOhio and will more than likely be going to a BCS game. Cheers to everyone and especially the players/coaching staff. I am so relieved and could not be more proud of this team. It's amazing what coaching does to a team in just one year.

Go freaking Blue, keep beating Ohio.

so pretty much anyone in front of us must lose.  A good scenario would be for south carolina to lose to clemson but then Clemson lose the ACC champ game.

MSU losing next week would help, but then Wiscy (or even PSU) could jump over us, which would be very bad.

A kansas state loss to Iowa state next week.

Georgia losing to LSU next week (the most likely in my opinion)

there's still a team in front of us and we need to move up.  The better scenario is that Penn State goes to the title game and wins, then hope that it's not enough to push them over Michigan.

Edit: while it may end up being a wash, we'll see, and I'm trying to cover all rooting hopes.  Another possibility is Oklahoma losing to Ok st. next week.  That might be enough to drop them down behind Mich.

because it's possible that if the winner is not michigan state (i.e. Wisconsin) that the BCS won't put that team ahead of michigan.  you never know.

The better rooting interest is to look out of conference at Oklahoma, Goergia, and S.Car

Can someone tell me who I should be rooting for in all of the remaining games this year so we get a BCS berth?

I believe Michigan will win both games next year with a Sr. Denard and no Cousins at home but if we could win only one game next year between O$U and Spartansuck I might almost go with Spartansuck.  I detest Dantonio more than Meyer too.

MSU may have been our worst performance of the year and most of the Iowa game has to be a close second.  How close is this team to being undefeated.  By no means do I think we are to the level of Bama or LSU yet, but we are pretty close to being in the National Championship conversation.  That may actually be a more scary thought than an exciting one.

Me, And it hurts a lot. Having msu instead of michigan in the inaugural B1G championship game is like seeing Charley and the chocolate factory is on tv, flipping over, and finding out it is the stupid Johnny depp version instead of gene wilder.

This doesn't take the Sparty loss at all for me.  They've beat us 4 years in a row, can't stand their prick of a coach and their idiot fans that think they are elite.  Yea-  we have a chance at BCS and they may miss out, but we need to start beating them!

Sparty was the better team on that day, in that stadium, and in a trash tornado. We really should've beaten Iowa though. So many mistakes cost us... 11-1. Sooo happy with 10-2 though, it's whatever. GO BLUE, see you in New Orleans

When we went 3-9, the Sparty loss was painless and pretty much meaningless.

If we had beaten Michigan State this year, we would be in the Big Ten Championship game (another M game to watch next week!).  The loss to MSU had pretty big implications.

Looking at the season in August thinking we would win three of four against ND, MSU, Nebraska and Ohio would have been wildly optimistic to say the least.  We'll get little brother next year, and with the turn of the worm on recruiting, they are gonna be up against it for some time.

A loss to Sparty always sucks.  But the sucktitude will be almost erased if Michigan gets a BCS bid while Sparty loses the inaugural B1G Championship game and goes to the Outback Bowl.
