Northwestern Tailgate
Says it's for season ticket holders only - I assume there's no public parking?
Duffy's Bar in Chicago is hosting a tailgate and shuttle to the stadium for that game. I'm pretty sure it's $100 per person for tickets to the game, tailgating somewhere around the stadium, and a shuttle there and back.
You can do it yourself for so much cheaper than that. Especially considering you can get to Evanston on CTA for $4.50 round trip just as easily as taking a shuttle from Duffy's, tickets will be cheap (NU never sells out, even for Michigan), etc. etc.
I'm not doubting you can. I was simply just giving out a tailgating idea.
I just tried buying tickets on the NU website and they are definitely sold out.
It ain't easy being cheesy
There are a lot of free lots off of Sheridan Road where people tailgate. There are also shuttles that will take you from those lots to the game or if ya want you can just hike it to the stadium
or Threet Road...go straight on D. Robinson Rd
UM vs osu 2011 bring your keys and make noise (get it keys!)
The alumni tailgate was in Chandler Park. That was also the location of the Duffy's (big Michigan bar in Chicago) private tailgate. Keep in mind that was in 2007, so they might have changed their locations. Either way, it was a real nice place to tailgate.
Agreed, I'd do Chandler Park if you have a chance, but since I believe it's a night game I'd suggest going to dinner in Chicago. I'd reccomend The Firehouse on Michigan Ave, Tru, or The Signature Room then heading out to the tailgate in Chandler Park (I was slghtly bored the year I went).
Just stop somewhere here on your way north:

You are more than welcome to tailgate on my rooftop then take the CTA with me and my family.
On a serious note, if you are an alum or a part of the Victor's Club, I think Michigan is hosting a tailgate event. I just want to throw out that option because I don't know much about tailgating in Evanston.
My wife and I land at Midway at 4pm that Saturday. What's the easiest, quickest and cheapest route to the game? We already have tickets. Bus? Cab? Rent a car?
The UM Alumni Association sponsors the tailgate near Ryan Field. Information is available on their website:

There is no doubt the L (Chicago's Subway) is the best way to get to Evanston. No traffic, and if you are "smart" you can keep the tailgate going on the train pretty easily. We usually tailgate on our rooftop until 2 hrs. before game time and then head up on the L. Nice easy ride, and then an easy walk into the Stadium.
Go Blue!

The course right by the stadium opened for tailgating for the first time this year and is the new "it" spot.
