Maybe that stuff flies up there, since they play in a bingo hall. But I tell ya, those HACK refs do a job like that in Ann Arbor, They'll have a hard time leaving...

I'll stick to Yost. All of those NCAA and CCHA banners look pretty nice not to mention the BEAUTIFUL new scoreboard. I've been to northern before (last years series). It just felt like a bingo hall to me. Sorry..

The puckheads slapped me with a "trolling" tag too.  All I said was "most of the penalties were justified, getting mad isn't the way to go".

As a group Michigan fans sure have rage issues when it comes to losing (myself included).

Alright to set the story straight, I, sitting in my Michigan gear, was on Michigan's goal line for the 2nd period and the fight, then moved down so I was on our goal line again in the 3rd. There was an NMU rush, a UM player pushed the NMU player into the crease, he fell into Hunwick's legs. Hunwick then sort of did a McTwist down onto the ice while fights broke out all over. Hunwick got up, the NMU player got up. All was over in the crease. Then, as the NMU player was about to turn around, Hunwick hit him with a cheap Blocker upper cut to the chin, under his facemask, sending the guy to the ice. Hunwick then proceeded to chirp NMU's arena staff for trying to get the net back on, and "jerking off" with his snagger at fans after it was all settled down. I have never been quieter at any Michigan sporting event. It was embarassing to see our star goaltender act that way. He is obviously a huge component to our team, so why do such stupid shit?? The refs got that right 100% by tossing him. Now onto the "bias" of the refs. The game was chippy from the beginning and they were consistent the entire game, they were not unfair. Michigan flat out lost this game, probably would not have happened if their goalie didn't cheapshot an NMU player. The refs had no part in the end result, I guarantee you. Go Blue tomorrow night, hopefully they can stay composed!

I was going to suggest we grab a beer or two at the Wooden Nickel (or somewhere else) after the game but I guess that's not possible, lol.

Regardless, it'll be weird to see people wearing Michigan stuff tomorrow wondering if it's an MGoBlogger.  Hell, maybe I saw you tonight and didn't even know it.

would Hunwick be out?  He got a misconduct, not a DQ, I doubt Red's going to sit him, there's nothing on MGoBlue, or the Michgan Hockey facebook or twitter about him being out tomorrow... Unless the CCHA hands something extra out and nothing is on the CCHA website yet, Hunwick should be playing tomorow.

According to the Daily article just posted,

The referees needed several minutes to sort out the mayhem and many more to sort out the penalties. They ejected Hunwick, Moffatt and Cherniwchan and gave Seckel a double-minor for boarding. The status of all three ejected players for tomorrow’s game will be decided by CCHA officials.

whether you are saying Hunwick is already suspended for tomorrow or if you're just adding to information, but I read that as Hunwick, Moffatt and NMU were ejected Friday and their status for Saturday will be decided by CCHA officials.  I'm not sure how that makes any sense though, because as far as I know Moffatt and the NMU guy are gone for sure for the Saturday game courtesy of their game DQs while Hunwick would have to be given a separate suspension for Saturday as a Misconduct does not carry an automatic one extra game suspension like the DQ's (automatic for fighting in NCAA hockey) do.

It was crazy last night in the press box.  First it was announced as a misconduct, but then the live stats page listed it as a fighting penalty (which would carry a game DQ). Then it got changed to misconduct.

Then CCHA commish Fred Pletsch, who was at the game, started looking at the video. During the second intermission he told the Michigan officials next to me "Hunwick's out." After Fred left, I double checked with them that I heard that correctly and they said yes and that it was changed to a fighting penaltly.

After the game I talk to one of the Michigan guys again and he now said Shawn was in for Saturday, that it was a misconduct and Pletsch just mixed up the penalties when talking to them. Pletsch thought Hunwick got the DQ and Luke Moffatt the misconduct, when it was the other way around.

So now we were under the impression Hunwick was back in. After interviews I went back to the press box and tried to find Pletsch so I could get some official offical word on it, but he was MIA. Then NMU sports info told us officially it's a game misconduct, so Hunwick is available tonight. However, they said, all game misconducts are reviewed by the league and the CCHA could slap a suspension on him. By the end of the night I think we decided to basically put a disclaimer that any article mentioning Hunwick's status may not be accurate by morning.

So as of Saturday morning, Hunwick is in, Moffatt is out, and Andrew Cherniwchan is out for NMU.  I'm not sure why the Daily wrote their status will be decided by CCHA officials. There's nothing to decide in the case of Moffatt and Cherni. A game DQ is an automatic suspension. They're out. Moffatt will also have to be a bit more careful in these situations going forward, too, as each additional game DQ adds another game to your suspension, so if he should get another one this season he'd miss the next two games.

I googled it, looked on mgoblue.com, uscho.com and ccha.com but didnt see anything.  What is the best source for college hockey info?  For football and basketball, I just come here but not sure hockey gets the same attention.

it's noon and still nothing on the CCHA website about any suspensions to Hunwick.  I'm going to take no news as good news, they're probably not going to publish an article saying "Shawn Hunwick will not receive an additional suspension" becaue that should be the assumption.  I've seen the CCHA suspend people before, but I never really paid enough attention to notice when they announced the additional games, but for my sanity, I'm just going to assume that since there's nothing yet, and both Pletch and Piotrowski (CCHA commish and head of officials) were at the game last night, that there isn't going to be anything.

Please don't let there be anything...
