Nick Sheridan hired to join University of Washington staff
Hopefully it works out better for him than at Indiana.

Hired as TE coach.

QB Coach at IU for two years then switched to TE coach in 2019.
Good luck to him - hope he does well in his career.

Pretty sure he was the OC at IU.
December 17th, 2021 at 2:51 PM ^
I didn’t realize Nick Sheridan got processed by Tom Allen.
December 17th, 2021 at 2:54 PM ^
I think "jettisoned" is a more appropriate characterization.
I hope Nick does well there. Definitely will be better than John Donovan.
December 17th, 2021 at 6:06 PM ^
Well he’s a position coach, so it’ll be hard to compare him to Donovan
December 17th, 2021 at 1:57 PM ^
Good for him. Good luck Nick!
Would love to see him come home to AA in some capacity.

He's the main reason Pennix transferred to Washington. At least that's the word around IN for the last few days.
December 17th, 2021 at 2:49 PM ^
Not former Indiana OC Kalen DeBoer?
December 17th, 2021 at 3:44 PM ^
Nick was his OC for 2 years. But I'm sure it's a combo of both.
December 17th, 2021 at 2:04 PM ^
Nice that he landed on his feet somewhat. Hopefully he'll be able to get another coordinator position someday (assuming he'd like to coach at that level again).
December 17th, 2021 at 3:43 PM ^
Living in Seattle and coaching at a great school in a power conference is definitely landing on your feet.
December 17th, 2021 at 2:16 PM ^
Nick showed himself to be an up and comer. I won't let one bad year with many team issues jade my opinion of him. And fully expect he will be heard from again.
December 17th, 2021 at 2:33 PM ^
2020 they said he was a genius. Entire team fell apart in 2021. He is a very good coach

Allen was the product sitting in a lucky seat. He was fortunate to have a seasoned team when Covid struck. When spring practices were wiped out his veterans benefited from that. IU rode a lucky win against Penn State forward and people liked the 'aw shucks' locker room coaching speechs which leaked.
IU is mostly a good little program because they do not have any expectations for being good. Suddenly everyone was putting them near the top of the East and I knew that wouldn't last.
IU is not going to recruit against Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan or Michigan State. Even in Indiana, they have to fight Purdue for recruits. Had IU been in the West, they would be like Northwestern or Iowa. Every couple of years they would rise up with a good little team, then fall back down after graduation hits and build it back up again. In the East, they would be crushed by everyone else racing to the top.

It’s Indiana so it’s not like it should come as a huge surprise. It was nice to see that asshat Allen come back down to earth this year. He even brought his huge chompers with him.
December 17th, 2021 at 4:14 PM ^
I enjoyed Allen's immolation as well
Another year or two of that and there will be nothing left but the dental records
December 17th, 2021 at 3:01 PM ^
Obviously made an impression on DeBoer in his year at Indiana before taking over at Fresno.
December 17th, 2021 at 3:14 PM ^
Good for him.
December 17th, 2021 at 3:32 PM ^
Every time I see Washington I can only think one thing, Hello Josh Conerly!
December 17th, 2021 at 4:27 PM ^
Times ran this Conerly story the other day but I didn't think it had enough new info to warrant its own thread.
December 17th, 2021 at 3:45 PM ^
Hope he does well because if turns out to be a solid coach, we'll get him back to Ann Arbor in a few years when our young guys here all get promotions
December 17th, 2021 at 4:55 PM ^
In other TE specific news I saw Kevin Koger speaking to Justin Herbert in yesterday’s Chiefs Chargers game. He is the Chargers TE coach. Well done Kevin.
Also: Staee plays at Washington next year so I am hoping DeBoer and his new collection of coaches can pull it together. After losing out on Conerly of course.
December 17th, 2021 at 6:04 PM ^
I think he is going to do well there. I’m rooting for him big time.
December 17th, 2021 at 6:07 PM ^
Washington's offense can't get any worse, right? ...right? ...maybe? Hmm...maybe.
I wish nothing but the best for my favorite Michigan QB ever.
December 17th, 2021 at 7:38 PM ^
I love you so much I hate you
December 17th, 2021 at 10:11 PM ^
Lots of people kill people and stuff.
When they're not playing school.
Fuck off.
December 17th, 2021 at 8:14 PM ^
Again?
December 17th, 2021 at 8:16 PM ^
Sheridan gave it his all at Michigan, even though he wasn't well-suited for Rich Rod's offense. I give him credit for that, plus he seemed like a nice guy with his head screwed on straight.
I hope he does a great job at Washington!
December 18th, 2021 at 8:15 AM ^
I don’t know that Sheridan was suited for any Offense. He’s more of a “those who can’t coach” kind of guy. Either way he did give all and seems to be an Xs and Os kind of guy and I wish him success. Maybe even someday back at michigan.
December 17th, 2021 at 11:29 PM ^
Hope he is getting a 3x increase in pay for cost of living in Seattle vs. Bloomington.
December 18th, 2021 at 7:59 AM ^
I was thinking the same thing when I read an earlier post from someone talking about living in Seattle and landing on their feet.
