Best in-state class in decades and UM has no shot at Damon Payne, is losing ground with Jamari Budden, is in a dog fight for Rocco Spindler and Donovan Edwards, Garrett Dellinger is going elsewhere (why is Crippen a commit again when he was dropped by ND?). Kalen King turned us down, etc.
It's almost like they never adequately replaced Tyrone Wheatley's instate (specifically Detroit) recruiting ties. But hey need to get guys like Pep, Drevno, McElwain, Shoop, and Zordich on staff.

Nah I'm just tired of being OSU's bitch and surprised no one else isn't. Lost 16 out of 18 to the Buckeyes. 16 years without a big ten title. Recruiting going in the crapper. Yeah I'm fed up with it. Paying this coach 8 million a year to make us elite and we're not even competitive against OSU anymore.
I like Jim and want him to succeed here, but his defensive staff is not capable of recruiting at a championship level. They are a bunch of welterweights trying to box with the heavyweights. The fact that he keeps hiring guys who aren't ace recruiters like Shoop, Zordich, Nua, Pep, Drevno, etc. just proves how much this guy doesn't get it. Don Brown still thinks he's coaching at BC and Uconn.
Read Brian's piece on OSU this year doesn't matter how great our gameplan was they 5 stars everywhere and we have 3 and 4 stars. No scheme in the world is going to make up for that. The sooner everyone gets on board with the fact that recruiting is terrible and needs to be picked up BADLY the better. Harbaugh should be bringing in top 5 classes. If Brady fucking Hke can do that then Harbaugh can.

Basically, with the pandemic going on kids are committing earlier then normal as placeholders then deciding if they want to visit schools later, realizing that might not happen, they lock in their spot at whatever school.
The lower ranked kids are probably told they can’t commit & then go on OVs later elsewhere. But the higher ranked kids are being told to go ahead & commit & take the visits later. Because the coaches would rather get a commitment and have them do visits then not to have a commitment & have them do visits.
It’s happening all over the country with all kinds of schools. But EJ, in his article, labeled it “scare tactics.”

I'm not following what you're saying. Spindler has said he's taking all five visits before he decides and that he's not announcing until that happens. So publicly announcing to hold a spot right now is out of the question.
He does want to take all five OVs. And I said nothing about publicly announcing. I did say though that kids are committing to staffs at schools with the understanding that they will still take their OVs when the lockdown is over. Does it makes sense now?
