NCAAFB: UAB vs UCF Open Thread
8p, ESPN/ESPN3, Alabama-Birmingham at Central Florida
As many of you can tell, I'm addicted to college football. As Paul pointed out to me last night, there is not a night from yesterday through Thanksgiving week without at least some kind of college or pro game on. This is my time of year.
Tonight's EPIC Conference USA GRUDGE MATCH features the 1-3 (0-1 in conference) UAB Blazers and the 2-2 UCF Knights. This will be UCF's first conference game.
UAB isn't a great team but they do have a fairly decent offense, ranking 28th in passing yards per game and 48th in rushing yards per game. They have been porous at best on defense, getting rolled by SMU, losing a shoot out against FAU, winning a shootout with Troy, and losing to Tennessee in overtime.
UCF is built more around their defense than their offense. In 4 games this year, they'v given up just 15.5 points per game, good for 21st best in the nation. That does include 2 games against BCS AQ opponents in NC State and undefeated Kansas State. As a defensive oriented team, you can probably guess that ball control on offense is key. They do rank 38 in rushing yards per game for that reason. In fact, their pass offense is horrendous. #98 in yards per game.
The line is UCF -11.5, -12, or -12.5 depending your site. The over/under is at 48 or 48.5.
Feed your addiction. Watch the game. Comment on how silly the little UCF gets. Comment about GLEE and watch your mgopoints dwindle by 30,000.

OT: I know you locked the playoff baseball thread but the point I think that OP was trying to get to is that Halladay is two outs from throwing a no hitter, something that hasn't happened in the playoffs in decades (since 1956).
And go UCF.

Yeah, I've been watching as well. It's been a great day for pitching in baseball. Best types of days if you ask me. But if the playoffs follow the regular season, all the great pitching will be blown by the end of the DS's. The CS's and WS will be offensive explosions.

It's a grudge match, but is it a REVENGE game? If so, the winner should be easy to predict.

Could someone remind me what happened with Michigan and Godfrey?

Well, despite me not saying it earlier, still in good mood on my pick. UAB to cover but UCF straight up.
7-0 UCF so far.

What a horrible fumble for UCF. Easy touchdown there if the RB holds on to it.

So much for covering by the way momentum is going now. If UAB doesn't get anything this drive, we're looking at a route.

So how many times have the announcers mentioned Denard?
October 6th, 2010 at 10:23 PM ^
They had twice during the first half. Switched over at the half to catch the South Park premiere. It seemed like UCF had totally pulled away. I'm sure that meant more Denard coming with nothing better to talk about.

I can't believe I forgot.
