NCAA Playoff football in Michigan next weekend

Division II and III playoff pairings were announced today (I have a personal rooting interest in one of the teams going).

Grand Valley will host a first round game against Lindenwood, for the right to take on top seeded bottom Ferris State in the quarterfinals (it’s a 28 team field). Slippery Rock also made the field.

Albion, which won the MIAA, will host Wisconsin-LaCrosse next week in Albion. If they win they’ll likely play 2019 champion North Central in the round of 16 (D3 is a 32 team field).

UMD made it in and plays a road game at Angelo State. Some grumbling in these parts about Augustana and Bemidji State getting paired in a conference rematch; UMD would probably be hosting a game I could go to if they hadn't choked away a big home lead against Bemidji in a game I attended for about a half.

I have no idea if UMD matches up well against Angelo, but the last time UMD played one of those Texas schools in the playoffs they got smoked, and this UMD team has some good aspects but rotates 3 QBs and makes it work with smoke and mirrors.
