NCAA 2011: Holy cow!
So I just came across a really interesting preview of NCAA 2011 and it has some rather interesting tidbits, some of which are about Michigan:
The styles noted above are the main offensive categories represented in the game, and different teams will run different variations of these styles. For example, Michigan will run a spread offense, but it is a hurry-up spread that is intended to intimidate and confuse opponents.
To touch again on the no huddle, one of the cooler things I experienced was that you are now able to select any play from your playbook as you rush to the line...Not only are you now able to select any play you want, but your team will realistically look to the sideline as the play is made just like you would see on a Saturday afternoon.
Anyhow, the entire preview is quite interesting and I'm definitely excited for this one!
EDIT: Thanks for the help on the blockquotes!
Last year's game stunk and I didn't buy it (first time I've skipped on that game in a long time), but this year's looks promising.
Too bad that Denard probably won't be able to throw in the game. Forcier might be dominant in it though.
But that's also why you are able to edit rosters. Even if they make him terrible, I'll attempt to make it realistic. I already preordered this game due to the promising improvements and a fellow mgoblogger gave us a code to get it 20 bucks off. That and Madden. I wish I didn't buy NCAA last year, but since I got it for 20 bucks off, I can sell it for a profit even if I don't want it. Cha-Ching. Also, is it just me or are the graphics in the pics amazing compared to last year? Huge improvement there with lighting and what not. Blocking AI is improved again, and it looks realistic. I'm excited.
code plz I must have missed that post
The graphics in the post look the same as the graphics from last year, but better than in game.
I'm exclaiming!
Going to put Denard all over the field with the new Formation Subs. Tate will be good in the game. If nothing else Michigan will be electric in that game!
To write the old <blockquote> html, just go back to the basic view, not the editor view by clicking the "Switch to plain text editor". At least, that's what I do.
Can i make myself a starting CB and RB when playing Road To Glory? In last years' game i felt i was too good to be wasted playing only on one side of the ball, i did not like that . . .
To crème the competition. Although milking one or two plays is cowardly the steaks are too high as I also want to slaughter my opponent and not be made a dairy-air. So instead or relying on bovine intervention or bullyoni advice beef up the play calling and stop spinning your veal’s. It's a case of the calves and clave-not's. My apologies if this syntax became spirited as I was raised in a barn.
Anyone got a holy crap?
Such a great idea in last year's game-- I go to the site, I take actual graphics that I designed and upload them into my account and onto my team's uniforms. Then I access my site account from the PS3 and BAM! My team's running around with my own artwork on the helmets, or even on the 50 yard line.
LOVED the idea, but the execution was horrible! Apparently people were throwing up too many licensed images of other sports, etc. and they tried to 'review' incoming profiles as they were saved... PLUS the site was constantly crashing and/or losing saved data, and rarely updated/monitored/fixed. The concept was fantastic, but the execution was pure fail.
Any talk of improvement, or did they scrap the feature altogether?
Why would you want to change the greatest uniform ever created?
Unless you want to replace the buckeye with a turd sandwich
Otherwise, forget it, EA.
WOTS is no dreads, but they did add dilithium into the game just for him.
as long as we're talking cheesy, over-used nicknames -
Denard better not have shoelaces.
As long as Michigan kicks butt in the Big House this fall, does this really matter?
(Just asking...)
I'm really excited about being able to use the whole playbook in the hurry up. I also am anxious to see how the 3-3-5 works in a video game. I usually run a nickel almost every play but if you want to be true to playing like Michigan, which I do, then I wonder how that D works. I also hope they upped Denard's speed because 88 last year was way too slow
I've been playing with the 3-3-5 since it became clear we'd be switching to it; I've traditionally used a 3-4. The D is pretty legit although I still haven't quite figured out the best way to stop offenses like Georgia Tech's.
I think the formation subs will be a big boost to defense as well, allowing you to move guys like Roh around as you need to. I'm curious if the defense will also be able to call any play in the playbook as well. If not, I can see how that would be a pretty big advantage to the offense.
Hopefully they will upgrade Denard's speed, juke, elusiveness, etc.
I did the same thing. I never thought about trying the 3-3-5 until Michigan toyed with it and now I run it exclusively. I've noticed I give up a little more yardage but my scoring defense is tremendous. Not to mention, it seems like blitzing is much more effective.
I use the 3-3-5 and the 4-3, but if you go with the 3-3-5, make sure to blitz a lot. The bandit blitzes off of the edge are pretty hard to counteract.
Are the bandit's two SS? So does that mean for recruiting purposes, you need extra SS because you play more of them?
Yes and yes, but moving around other defensive backs on your roster works just fine.
Is this promotion on-going? If so, could you let me know who is offering this deal? I'd place a pre-order.
There was a thread some mgoblogger put up that had a code. Not sure if it's available anymore, and I did it a few months ago, so I don't remember what the code was. It was straight from EA, though. You might be able to find it in a google search or on the site. I'm not sure.
Try Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start. Usually works.
Don't forget to press Select before start if you want two (players) games
I hadn't thought of that code for about 20 years until last week. My brother and I were sitting around and got talking about old nintendo games and I spit out that code like I had used it yesterday. I think that was the first cheat code ever used (but I am not certain of that). I loved contra!
I think it ended, if it didn't please let me know!
Not sure if it still works, but here's the post/link:

EDIT: Just tried the code, it doesn't appear to work anymore.
Just saw the last paragraph at Operation Sports.
"I am also very excited to let everyone know that authentic team-pregame entrances are back, and after seeing a couple in action, I have to say I was more than impressed."
Um... Awesome? Michigan has one of the more memorable and interesting entrances in college football, so I'm thinking that they will have the banner in the game. I'll be seriously cheesed if they don't have it now.
They do have Michigan touching the banner FTW!
OMG... They just took one step back into my heart.
Or do we have to wait until next year?
You may have to wait until even 2013. All signs point to them not being in this year.
I have said it once and I will say it again. Show me the money EA and I will buy. You haven't shown me the money in the last two years.
In my not so humble opinion, NCAA has been great the last few years and Madden has gone downhill since about 2005. Ever since the cone vision thing in madden a few years ago I have felt NCAA has put out the superior product. I used to be huge into Madden, now I have completely flipped to NCAA
I hope they keep the custom music feature. God help me if I have to go back to a virtual world where Temptation is not played after every third down stop
avatar win.
The big house better show stadium upgrades and be louder.
The ESPN licence has been wasted for years. Its about time we get a TV like game. I miss the crowd meter from the old days and the shaking. Maybe thats just me. Just made it feel like a true home field advantage.
I wouldn't count on any BH changes until next year at the earliest.
I am so glad you can run hurry up now. My attempt to emulate it was picking plays in literally 2-3 secs after the screen showed up.
You can always press the hurry up button after the play ends but it's the same play you already ran, you can then press X and call an audible, just 4 plays though but it can be mixed up, the not so bright side is that you can't change personal so you may end up with WRs as TEs or viceversa etc. . .
I ran that too, along with custom audibles still it's just not quite the same.
Can't wait to get ths game to put Denard at a lot of different postions on offense and to see how good the 3-3-5 goes for our defense.
If you pause the new video at just the right time, it looks as though the new press boxes are in the game. Along with running out and touching the banner!
