Name the season!

Submitted by Biff on

I just got home from the game and concluded that I have finally lost any hope that I might have had for the 2008 season. That isn't to say that I'm bailing on RR or anything, I still think he will have the ship righted within a few years, I just no longer have any aspirations regarding consecutive winning seasons, bowl games, or a smooth transition to the spread offense.

I find that for myself, and I imagine others out there in the ether, this season has already, and will continue to inflict emotional scars of a deep and abiding nature. For the sake of clarity and reference in our future griping, I propose that we come up with a name by which to refer to this debacle of a season. So far I have been tossing around . . .

Michigan Football 2008: Season of Soul-crushing Futility

Michigan Football 2008: The Unending Nightmare

Michigan Football 2008: I cant believe I thought our defense was going to keep us in games

I would be interested to hear your suggestions

...the year of spending enormous chunks of my weekend curled up in the fetal position under the bed and finding it difficult to speak to other human beings and/or eat.

Oh, and apparently ruining my wife's weekend as well in the process, not to mention the ballcap that I have thrown on the living room rug so many times that I swear the stitches are starting to give way and unravel.

Go Blue.  Hoo.

Michigan Football 2008:  The year I learned that losing to a crappy MAC team in the middle of a crappy season isn't really that bad compared to losing to a 1-AA team to start the season ranked No. 5.
