MSU v. OSU is On Right Now

Mates,

Loved our win tonight, but of great interest is the ohio v. MSU game going on in EL right now.  Don't know what the over/under is on broken noses, but hopefully the 'over' is achieved.

Go ohio?  Go sparty?   Go meteor?

Anyway, great night of hoops, Go Blue!

i think this is exactly where i am at.  i saw them play a few good games earlier in the year and then they played like crud.  now they look like they're getting it together again.  i think our last two reg. season games are going to be barn burners.  we better wear cups and helmets.

To me I just see a decent team that has some talent and they are playing extra hard the last few games. They remind me of a more talented Rutgers, they are gonna try to scrap, claw and beat you with rebounds and hustle points. Tonight they have 8 fast break points for example. When I say all the above they will still give us a run for our money just like Rutgers did, especially in East Lansing.

OSU playing sloppy against MSU aggressive D and they are “absolutely a tournament quality team?”  I may have to mute my tv to not hear the slurping sounds by the announcers.

how hard would you laugh if a guy like chaundee brown, who you know spends some time in the weight room, literally ran right over tiny tom as tiny was out on the court and chaundee sank a 3 and started on his way back down the court.  that would be one of those all-time great gifs.  could happen, too.

So Kyle Young is out with a concussion?  Unless he got that in practice, I'm assuming he got it when he bonked heads with Smith.  Way to go with the concussion protocol, OSU docs.

I haven't spent much time watching other teams play this year but everytime I do I'm momentarily confused because they don't seem to be playing the same game we are.

I thought it would be interesting to watch for a bit...but after 2 minutes of watching that horrid grouping of ugliness I just had to turn it off, save for gouging out my eyes.

Feels good to say I really don't give a shit what they do - F 'em.

MSU has no half-court offense. All they do is beat the shit out of the best player on the other team (in this case Liddell) and then run to the opposing basket ASAP. It's crazy to watch b/c refs aren't going to call fouls on everything, so why not just turn up the physicality.

So naturally Michigan has to play against that twice. Better bring the football pads.

I’m gonna add 2 points, one about OSU and one about us playing MSU. One, Ahrens is an absolute liability for OSU. Any decent defender is gonna lock him up and he’s a liability on defense. Two, we are really efficient with transition defense and that’s something MSU tries to utilize to get quick buckets. Look at Iowa tonight, I don’t really remember any transition baskets for them. If we don’t turn the ball over a ton, MSU will struggle in the half court against our defense.

I can live with OSU winning. Michigan already beat them on their court and there’s no hope for OSU to catch up in the standings.

What I don’t want to see is MSU rattle off a bunch of big wins and then come into the Michigan series with a ton of confidence but still playing for its tournament life. I want MSU teetering on the verge of collapse and then Michigan giving them that final push into oblivion.
