MSU -- Glenn Winston

Submitted by Dave on
I took a gander at MSU football's house organ to see their take on the Wiscy game, and noticed the following in a comment: http://noise.typepad.com/hey_joe/2009/09/msus-problems-go-to-11.html?ci… "When the felon, Winston pushes & swung at the Wicso player out of bounds, today - nothing - that reminded me of John L." Did anyone see this? And if it did happen, does it mean that he's going to be the next target of the B10's new disciplinary rules?

Very interesting and Winston got the most carries today... I honestly doubt that the BigTen can keep this precedent going suspending players like Mouton and Winston. However, by the rule, Winston must sit the UofM game or the BigTen is being unfair and breaking their word and rules.

...if Winston did take a swing at a guy, he's gotta be done for the season, no? I mean, you gotta figure his reinstatement was already on shaky ground.

"Big accusation, zero evidence. Great job, Mgoboard." The accusation wasn't Mgoboard's. It was somebody else's. Saying "Great job, Mgoboard" blames us for just asking if it were true. In other words, your comment was useless. Please go away. You should take a page from Irish's book and offer something useful if you're going to troll our message board.

There was insufficient meaning in your initial post for a clear meaning and your derrogatory wording made it appear that you felt Mgo was at the root of this (to your view) evil. I felt your meaning was that which Magnus also guessed. This could have been avoided had you posted a complete thought to avoid confusion. This was not what you did.

If I'm not mistaken, the OP is taking a quote from a person who commented on an LSJ blog and wondering if there was any merit to it. The accusation was made elsewhere, and he was searching for confirmation or denial (that I don't have) that this happened. I'm sure you watched the game, so does this mean there was no punch/psuedopunch? I ask because I am curious, not because I am accusing him of punching. I'm not trying to be condescending here, sorry if it comes off that way

This is what I was looking for in the first instance. It sounds like the persons (one additional person said it was a swing) on the LSJ blog mistook shoving for swinging. Though, to be fair, there's not exactly a huge gap between the two actions. Please note, this isn't really about Winston, or Dantonio, or MSU, but about the new paradigm set up by the B10 that's going to have each school reviewing it's opponent's previous game for instances of "non-football behavior" to bring to Delaney's attention.

Dantonio announces that he'll "take appropriate time to gather all the facts." The fact-gathering process will take just over a week before Winston is suspended. (We'll win anyway, though.)
