Thanks Carty:

"University of Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez spoke briefly to the media prior to this afternoon's "Bowling for Brock" charity event, revealing that offensive guard Cory Zirbel may be done for the season with a serious knee injury..."

Also, TRob is out for several weeks w/ a knee. DWar was held out of practice as a procaution. Minor & Brown practiced; they are good to go. And Ferrara is competing for the starting RG spot. Finally, they are preparring for Utah as of tonight.

I knew hiring RichRod was a mistake. This Barwis character is injuring all the players before the season even starts, some great S&C program he's running.

In all seriousness though where did you hear about the T-Rob injury, that is news to me.

Edit - just listened to the presser again, and RR talked about it very briefly.

That actually sucks a lot. Gosh I cannot wait until kickoff so we can finally see what we have out there, this is a lil depressing.

Saw this while reading comments from the de-commitment of Newsome on one of the Det newspapers:

"Verbal commitments are not worth the paper they are written on."

Enjoy.

I guess we can take T-Rob off the betting board for "freshmen most likely to create a buzz after opening day" from the latest UV comment thread.

So, the coaching staff can take a D-Linemen and coach him up to be a possible starter. Hopefully, they can also teach Carson Butler how to block without holding.....and not to jump the count.

Wont be worried about DWar being held out of practice until we're into the third day of this, uh, "precautionary stage." Or I, guess as its now being called, procaution.

Quick prediction.....first let me belt down this shot of Maize and Blue Koolaid.....mmm that's good very Ufer-tastic.....ok, onto the prediction. Both Minor and Brown will be in the top five rushers of the big ten when the season is over. We'll be honking General Patton's horn all fall with those two thoroughbreds.

And, if Rodriguez says as of now the team is preparing for Utah, then I will start preparing for Utah....I've got my Brain Johnson voodoo doll at the ready with pins aplenty....Beehive State, y'all are on notice bitches!

Zirbel is going in for surgery in the morning.  Unless Barwis has some sort of magical plan to rengenerate tendons and ligaments, I somehow doubt he will be back anytime soon, which really sucks.
