MNB's Galactic Zoltan Interview
Maize n Brew Dave provides us with some seriously interesting insights from his extensive pre-draft interview with Zoltan Mesko. A sampling:
[Who's impressed in spring practice?]
There are a lot of young guys that have the potential to be something unbelievable. Justin Turner, for instance. I only see bits and pieces of practice, because I'll do my own thing indoors with the other special teamers, but when I do watch practices, Justin Turner was like white-on-rice with the receivers. He's still learning, but if he was on the receiver, it was like he knew what the receiver was doing next.
[What's your reaction to your cult hero status?]
In my wildest dreams I never would've imagined this. I don't know... maybe it's the weird name I have that people can recognize pretty easily. I guess they link it to the movie "Dude, Where's My Car" and do the Z symbol. It's unbelievable. I've seen a couple of shirts printed of me, and it's like "Wow." I don't know why people are this crazy about their punter, but I accept it with open arms and I'm so thankful to have had this experience at Michigan. I mean I was voted Homecoming King in 2008, how's that for unbelievable?
Tons of great Q&A on how Michigan conducts its practices, what the draft combine experience was like, the answer to whether or not he can hit the roof of Newsterbaan with a football, info on his relationship with Lloyd Carr, etc.
This is a must read for all MGoBlogsters.

Tom Coughlin will meet with Jeff Feagles this week and thinks Jeff may call it a career. We knew before the draft this may be happening and we waited until the 7th to draft a punter. I bothered that we could have taken Zoltan before that.

The whole thing is must read. No doubt.
I love Zoltan so much - I have like 5 friends who all want the Zoltan for Space Emperor of Space shirts and we're going to head down to a Pats summer camp to cheer him on.
A moment and a hanky.
What a good article. Zoltan may you rule the NFL with the same authority as you ruled the college game.
The man is a beast in every way, and a Michigan Man to the bone as evidenced below:
"...Another guy that was there was Aaron Petree of Ohio State. It was kind of ironic that I held for him during the field goal period. It was like, should I give him laces or not..."
the answer to whether or not he can hit the roof of Newsterbaan with a football
The only legitimate questions on this topic are:
- Were you impressed by the structural integrity of the roof after hitting it the first time and finding it did not collapse from the impact?
- How many holes in the roof did you make over the course of last season?
- Did Coach Rodriguez tell you how much each of those holes cost to fix?
Any question that suggests the Exalted Space Emperor never hit the roof with a punt is heresy.
he has spoken, it is written, I believe.
