Just one of those years in college basketball. The field is wide open this year. This honestly doesn't shock me at all. Even teams like Minnesota and Penn St can knock you off if you're not prepared to compete at the highest level for 40 min and they start playing with confidence. Remember we were one of the best teams in college basketball just a couple years ago and we lost to an 0-14 Penn St team but we still ended up in the championship game. Perspective.

This board is the fuckin worst. MD loses to previously winless B10 team and somehow that means we have no chance to beat them. Not only do we match up well with them, but they haven't been playing well and we've already beaten them once this year. Negative Nancy's show yourself the door. I think we can pull the upset. Minnesota-shitty winless Minnesota-just beat them. Sunday's game will be a tough one, but in no way is that Maryland team impossible to beat

Despite the mini-rant...over the last few hours I've come around to what you're stating.  I still don't think we can win that game but MAYBE if this little Maryland slump continutes we have a shot.  We need lots of things to go our way, though.  Like tonight, that first half had Minnesota getting the ball to bounce/deflect/etc. their way soooo often it seemed unreal.  It didn't stay that way but "it' never cancelled out and went Maryland's way and it won them the game (along with Maryland playing poorly and missing their rock...Diamond Stone).  We seem to never get that sort of "luck" but if it falls our way and our guys play a really good game, a W COULD happen.

Well Minnesota had the benefit of playing them without Diamond Stone and he tore us up last time around. Plus Melo Trimble played terrible in the game we won. I hope you're right and we do win, but considering how we have played on the road vs good teams I'm not feeling too confident.

Aside from a handful of games (like their destruction of OSU), Maryland has pretty much been scraping by all season, regularly flirting with disaster.  They definitely seem like a case of the whole being less than the sum of its parts.

1: MSU

2: Maryland, Iowa, Indiana

3: Purdue, Wisconsin

4: Ohio State, Michigan

5: Nebraska, NW, PSU

6: Minnesota, Illinois

10: Rutgers

MSU is the hottest, and probably the best team overall in the B1G, and likely the country.
